Hiccup and Astrid were currently sitting near the edge of a cliff in complete silence enjoying the wonderful scenery of the ocean and sky with their dragons playing behind them.
A couple of seconds later, they pulled their eyes away from the view at the same time. Astrid looked at the person beside her to see Hiccup's expression. Said dragon rider did the same.
They were now gazing at each other's eyes. The bright sky meets the serene forest. Both of them didn't realize that they were lost, mesmerize by each other that is until...
"Ouch! Toothless?!" Hiccup asked surprise.
Toothless threw a small stick on Hiccup's head which made him snap out of his thoughts.
"Thanks for nothing you useless reptile." He said sarcastically but was relief at the same time knowing that if his dragon didn't bring him back to his senses, he might embarrass himself in front of Astrid.
The blonde, however was still frozen but soon realize what was happening when her dragon nudge her, and she went back to her old self again.
"We should get back to the others." Astrid said plainly.
"Yeah." Hiccup replied.
Their flight back on the Edge was quiet and they didn't talk the whole time until their dragons signaled them that were getting close to the said island.
"You go first." They said at the same time.
"No, you go first." They said again in unison.
"Alright, I'll go first." Astrid finally said.
Hiccup nodded at her and she returned the gesture. They always return to the Clubhouse alone and not with each other to avoid suspicions about the mission but what they don't know is that it's only getting the others more suspicious.
Hiccup landed on the Clubhouse a couple minutes after Astrid did the same on the opposite direction. They were both greeted by stares as they enter.
"What?" They both asked a bit annoyed and irritated by the questionable looks the gang are giving them. It's making them uncomfortable.
"Oh, nothing really, I don't know maybe because you're three hours late? And we ate breakfast late because of that." Snotlout scoffed.
"Hiccup, I've been waiting outside your hut the entire morning calling you for countless times but you're not there." Fishlegs said.
"So do I Astrid. I've been at your hut before dawn because I wanted to return the shield that I borrowed from you the other day and you're not there the entire time. Where were you?" Heather interrogated.
"I was training." Astrid answered.
"I went to the training arena right after breakfast and you're not there Astrid." Heather said.
"That was because I was training in the forest." Astrid reasoned.
"I checked that out too after I went to the arena." Heather said.
"It's because I left my hut at the middle of the night and went training at a nearby island in the middle of the forest, not here on the Edge." Astrid explained.
"Alright, but next time can you at least leave a letter at your hut if you're going somewhere?"
"Fine, can I please eat now?" The blonde asked.
