Chapter 10: The Story Behind

Hiccup

After we landed on the Clubhouse, we headed inside and circled on a table. Snotlout was beside Ruffnut who is next to Tuffnut who is next to me. Astrid is on my other side right next to Heather then to Fishlegs.

"So how did it happened?" Ruffnut asked.

"Yeah, I'm really excited to hear your story but it better not be boring. Cause I hate boring." Tuffnut said.

"I hate boring too." Ruffnut stated.

"I hate it more than you do." Tuffnut said.

"No, I hate it more than you do." Ruffnut argued.

"Do you want me to tell you the story or not?" I asked.

"Proceed my fellow Viking." Tuffnut said.

"Okay, so it goes like this..." I started.

Flashback

After the 'Scourge Incident' when they went back to the Edge, Hiccup found Astrid in her hut with Stormfly. Astrid was  supporting her head with one hand and the other was leaning against a wall which was keeping her in a standing position. Stormfly  was at her side looking worriedly.

"Astrid? You okay?" Hiccup asked walking beside her.

"Yeah, I'm fine Hiccup." Astrid replied. Her eyes closed and her hands were still in the same position.

"I wanted to go for an evening flight but I felt a bit dizzy that's all." She explained. He assisted her walk to a nearby rock to sit on. He stood there holding her left hand supporting her on a sitting position.

"I guess I won't be able to take that flight I wanted so much, will I?" She smiled lightly at him despite her dizziness.

"Do you really really really really and I mean really really really really really want to go on an evening flight?" He asked.

"Yes Hiccup. Do you really really really need to ask so much really?" She ask taking her right hand from her head doing the same with her left hand. She retrieve it from Hiccup's hand and allowed herself to sit up straight.

"Sorry, I was just making sure 'cause if you really want to go on a flight, Toothless and I could accompany you. That is only if you still want to go, of course."  He offered.

"That would be fine, thank you." She said.

She slowly stood up and mounted her dragon. Hiccup did the same and they flew together circling the nearby islands around the Edge.

"This never gets old." Astrid started. "Everytime we fly, it feels like it was the first time just like what he had four years ago."

"Yeah."

"It was amazing and still is." 

"Back then, I never thought that I will be able to do all of these... the mapping, exploring and flying a dragon, especially with you guys. Being the village's 'hiccup' this was dream come true for me. I've always wanted to get closer to you guys back then but I can't and now look at -" he was cut of by Stormfly's squawk.

She turn back at Astrid and much to her surprise she wasn't there and Stormfly was flying downwards so quickly. Hiccup's gaze followed Stormfly and he saw Astrid flying in the mid-air.

"Toothless." He muttered. Toothless went full speed diving down towards Astrid and Stormfly.

Before Astrid could fall down the ocean, Stormfly caught her in time. Hiccup and Toothless stopped immediately as soon as they saw Stormfly carrying her rider with her paws.
