And here we go again this should make most people happy (I hope or I give up)
Dan's POV
When he finally stopped sobbing he looked up, and realised it was dark, and that only stars were glinting above him. He let out another dry sob and shakily pulled his phone from his pocket and clicked the number he needed. After 3 rings they picked up.
"Dan? What's wrong?" Damian's voice rang in his ear.
"Phil... Can you come and get me?" He sobbed again.
"Of course. Where are you?" Damian asked worriedly.
"I'm in Phil's special place at the park, please come find me," Dan begged. He really needed some help.
"Of course, I will be there as fast as possible okay just stay there," Damian told him and then cut off the call. Dan slid his phone back into his pocket and started to shiver. The freezing tears on his cheeks being attacked by the cold wind. He roughly wiped them away with the sleeve of his coat and curled up again, tightly, hoping Damian would be here soon.
He heard rustling and lifted his head to see Damian crawling towards him.
"Oh little brother," Damian sighed and crawled over and put and arm around him.
"You got here fast," Dan said bluntly.
"I ran," Damian replied.
"Thanks Dame," he said quietly.
"It's fine. Now come on, let's get you home."
They slumped down on Dan's bed and Dan grabbed a pillow, hugging it tightly.
"So I'm guessing it didn't go well," Damian said gently.
"No shit," Dan said bitterly.
"Hey don't get mad at me, I want to help," Damian reminded him, raising his eyebrows.
"Sorry," Dan said. "I, just, my life has messed up so much over the past few days. I thought that when I fell in love with Phil that the rest of my life would work out easily, because he was all I needed to stay happy, but I guess not," he sighed and sniffed, resting his head on Damian's shoulder.
"I know how you feel. But I think you might be missing a big point. Phil is still in love with you, the only problem is that he doesn't trust you," Damian told him.
"Like he'd ever trust me again. I was so stupid and I don't deserve it," he said, his voice dull.
"Did he say anything about what's going to happen with school and everything?" Damian asked curiously.
"He said he would still like to be friends," Dan sighed again.
"But Dan, this is so simple!"
"Are you high or something? This is so confusing!"
"No, it's really not," Damian said smiling. "If you are going to be friends, you will be able to easily gain his trust back, even if it takes some time," Damian explained, and a small smile creeped onto Dan's face.
"You really think?" He said hopefully.
"I really do. Now go to bed, school tomorrow and you look exhausted," Damian told him and ruffled his hair, shuffling off the bed.
"Thanks Dame, you are the best brother ever," Dan called to him as he left.
"I know," he heard Damian call back and he chuckled, switching off his bedside lamp and curling up in the sheets, falling asleep almost instantly.

Phil groaned as his alarm went off loudly. School today. School and seeing Dan properly. Not the ideal day. He rolled out of bed and stumbled through to his bathroom, shuffling into the shower and brushing his teeth, wrapping a towel around his waist and walking back through to his room. He threw random clothes out from his wardrobe he guessed would look decent and pulled them on, deciding not to bother with straightening his hair. He sidled downstairs and saw a box of poptarts left on his table. He smiled and put one in the toaster. He really loved his mum. He grabbed a glass of milk and waited for his tart to pop up, sipping before grinning as it shot out of his toaster. He picked it up and dropped it onto a plate before it burnt his fingers, walking through to his front room to watch some TV before he had to go. He switched on Futurama and took a bite, tasting the hot jam that spread over his tongue.
"Mmmmm," he sighed and smiled gently.
He watched for around ten minutes before he heard his doorbell ring. He stood up and walked to the door, breathing in before opening it, to see only Damian waiting for him.
"Hey Dame," he said and hugged him quickly, letting out a tiny sigh if relief.
"Hi Phil," he replied and Phil shut his door, starting to walk with Damian.
"Is Dan not coming to school today?" Phil asked awkwardly.
"No he is, he just woke up a bit late so told me to go on," Damian said and Phil nodded, feeling slightly happier. He didn't have to face Dan until he had to now, and if he was going to come in Phil knew he couldn't be that bad, he would hate himself if he had made Dan physically unable to get up because he would be there. He still cared about him, even if he had hurt him badly.
They stayed away the topic of Dan as they walked to school, chatting about anything else before they saw Chris and Pj at the gates.
"OI OI!" they heard Chris yell at them as him and Pj stopped leaning on the wall.
"Alright?" Damian called back.
"Not too bad, you?" Chris still yelled even though they were now about a metre away.
"Great!" Damian shouted.
"Ouch," Pj said and Chris chuckled.
"Sorry Peej, shall I kiss it better?" Chris said, making kissy faces at him and Pj pushed his face away.
"Not with that mouth," Pj replied, raising his eyebrows.
"Rude, you liked my mouth yesterday" Chris winked and Pj blushed and hung his head. "Where's Dan?" Chris asked a bit more nervously.
"He's coming a bit later, he woke up late and you know what he's like with his hair," Damian said and Chris nodded. The bell rung loudly and they all simultaneously groaned before walking into the school complaining loudly just like every other British school child. And every child in the whole world.
Phil's first lesson was art, and he sat alone at his table for the first 5 minutes of the lesson. He had to admit he missed Dan a lot, and was hoping he was okay really. He was probably just still trying to get here and would turn up soon. He pulled out his phone and plugged headphones in, putting one ear in so as to distract him while he did his work, trying not to focus on why Dan wasn't there yet.
10 minutes in and still no Dan. The register had been taken and Dan hadn't been there to answer. Phil really hoped he was okay and was debating texting him to ask, but he decided against it, he was probably just being paranoid.
Halfway through the lesson and Dan was still non existent to the classroom. And Phil couldn't paint properly. He kept wobbling and not being able to focus on the sections he needed to fill. He sat back at his desk and started doodling on a piece of blank paper, but everything he drew was rubbish, and nothing like what he would usually do. And where was Dan still? Maybe because he had been so late he had decided to skip the first lesson and call in for seconds so he didn't get told off for walking in halfway through. That seemed like something he would do. Phil relaxed a little bit and tried another small sketch. This one was better so he decided he should probably go back to painting, not being as clumsy with his brush this time.
The bell rang and Phil quickly shoved his paint pallet in the sink and grabbed his bag, hurrying to his next lesson to see if Dan was already there. Science. He walked quickly to his class and looked in before sitting down in his seat, right next to an empty one where Dan should have been. Phil sighed heavily, tapping his pencil absentmindedly on the table over and over, hoping that Dan would walk in through the door before Miss started droning and he had to start writing frantic notes. But he didn't. He didn't show up all lesson, and Phil decided he wouldn't be coming in today. Had Damian lied to him about the whole late thing and was covering for him? Maybe, or maybe Dan hadn't told him anything. Who knew really, Phil just hoped he was okay, thinking about him lightly as he scribbled his notes, not focusing on his science work at all.
Damian appeared outside his classroom while Phil was packing away, grinning at him.
"Hey Phil,"
"Hey Dame, do you know where Dan is?" Phil asked him and he saw something flash over his face.
"Oh he texted me a few minutes ago saying he wasn't feeling well so he is staying at home. Stomach bug or something," Damian told him and Phil nodded, releasing an internal sigh of relief.
"Oh good. Well not about the illness, I mean that he hadn't got hit by a car or something on the way over," Phil laughed and Damian smiled back, but it faulted slightly.
"Shall we go find the love tortoises?" Damian asked him, changing the subject.
"Why are Chris and Pj tortoises?" Phil said confusedly.
"Because when they are together they walk so slowly as they won't stop kissing," Damian moaned and Phil chuckled, starting to walk with him outside.
"Maybe they should be turtles instead then," Phil winked and Damian laughed.
"Suddenly Philly isn't so innocent," Damian told him, raising his eyebrows at him.
"I blame you for that," Phil said, shoving him.
"Well then I take pride in it," Damian said, pecking his cheek then laughing and running away from him, a bit of colour in his face. Phil rolled his eyes but blushed a little, following him and seeing him lying against the tree with Chris and Pj.
"Why so slow Philly?" Damian called out to him and Phil scowled.
"Running is unhealthy and should be banned. You're just weird as you like sport," Phil told him and sat next to him, leaning a little against him.
"I think you have it mixed up," Damian said gently.
"No he doesn't," Chris cut in.
"I second that, you are weird. Sport is terrible for you and makes you have a shorter life," Pj said matter of factly.
"Okay where the hell is your logic in this?" Damian challenged, folding his arms.
"Well if you do a lot of physical activity you are more likely to injure yourself as you put yourself at more risk, like having one of those hard rounders balls hit your face. Also you can pull muscles and it is proven you love shorter time as you put your body through so much it can't cope as well," Pj told him smartly.
"I forgot you were clever," Damian pouted.
"You mean good at improv," Chris corrected and kissed Pj's cheek.
"That too," Pj said and they all laughed happily. The only thing was that it felt a little weird not having Dan there, and Phil wasn't sure why.
*****
Phil wasn't himself in maths. He didn't notice it himself but Damian could tell he was on edge. Had he caused it with the cheek kissing thing? He hadn't even meant to do it, his lips were kind of just attracted to Phil, and for a moment he forgot he couldn't kiss him. He really missed it. He wasn't sure if Phil actually realised Damian was still in love with him, but then again, he was doing pretty well at hiding it. From Dan and Phil at least. He hadn't convinced Chris at all. At lunch Chris pulled him aside and gave him a random hug.
"What was that for?" Damian asked.
"I know you are still in love with Phil. I can see it in your eyes, the want for someone you can't have," Chris said sadly.
"How can you see it?" Damian replied thoughtfully.
"I was in love with Pj for two years before we got together and before then he was straight and never even noticed me like that. And everyday it hurt like hell, but I did exactly what you did. Stuck by him, even if it pained me everyday. It was stupid really. But I get that Dame. Just don't feel bad about it okay? You can't help loving someone and even if you hide it from everyone else, you can always talk to me if you need to," Chris told him and Damian hugged him tightly.
"Thanks Chris. And I'm sorry you had to feel like this for two years, it does hurt pretty bad," Damian said, pulling away and sniffing, smiling sympathetically at him.
"Yeah, but honestly, it's a good kind of hurt, isn't it?" Chris said quietly and smiled gently at him. "Now come on, let's get back before people think we are secretly making out or hunting pigeons,"
"Erm..."
"Just roll with it."
Throughout the rest of lunch Damian had tried to contact Dan. He had texted him multiple times asking where he was. Because he wasn't ill at all, Damian was just being the fucking good person he was and covering for him too. Soon he would snap if people kept thinking he would always look out for them with hardly anything in return. He had even tried to call Dan when the other three were in a pile on (don't ask) but his phone went straight to voicemail. He had turned it off deliberately, and he knew it wasn't just out of battery, as Dan charged it every night. He was hiding deliberately. And that was not cool. Totally not cool.
When school had ended he had walked home as casually as he could with Phil, who was at least acting a little more normal now, just generally chatting. But when he left Phil at his gate with a short hug (and almost a kiss on the cheek again, he really needed to control himself better, but it was also really hard. Maybe he could get some tips off Chris?) he power walked home and almost smashed his front door open, slamming it behind him and straight away running upstairs and barging into his brothers room.
He saw Dan lying face down on his bed and he stalked up to him and rolled him over roughly.
"Where the hell were you?" He asked sternly and Dan looked guilty.
"I just couldn't come in," he said sadly and Damian shook his head.
"Okay Dan, no offence but you are being a real pussy," Damian told him. "Now get up," he ordered and Dan rolled back, letting out a small grunt.
But Damian had had enough. He ripped Dan's duvet out from under him, making him topple to the floor.
"What the hell Dame?" Dan shouted and Damian pulled him up by the shirt and held him at eye level, glaring.
"Daniel, I am trying to fucking help you get back together with Phil and you are acting like you don't give a shit and aren't trying. I had to cover for you and say you were ill so you wouldn't get in shit and I am tired of it. I am putting myself out there to help you and you are pretty much using me. I don't care how selfish this sounds but you are forgetting I don't have to help you, and that I am still in love with Phil too! I could try and get him back for myself, but I'm not. I am trying to help you who isn't giving a shit or even trying!" Damian screamed into his face, letting go of his shirt and Dan dropped down.
"Dame, I-" Dan started but Damian cut him off.
"I don't care, just tell me this: are you going to actually fight to get Phil back?" He asked, staring right in his eyes.
"I... I," Dan started and Damian slapped his face.
"Are you?" Damian asked firmly again and Dan nodded his head.
"Yes I am!" He replied enthusiastically and Damian moved backwards, exhaling heavily. "Thanks for the slap, I actually really needed that," Dan added, rubbing his cheek a little.
"Sorry if it hurt but you were being a whiney little shit so," Damian said, holding up his hands, grinning slightly.
"It's fine. And Dame, what you said wasn't selfish. I have been selfish, completely forgetting you have feelings for Phil too and making this all about me," Dan said guiltily and Damian patted his shoulder. "It's really amazing of you to put your own feelings aside to help me with mine," he added.
"I'll get over him at some point. But you won't," Damian said sadly and Dan nodded.
"I'm sorry Dame," Dan said and hugged him quickly, smiling sadly at him.
"Right, now you have no choice but to come in tomorrow and if you don't I will literally kill you okay?" Damian told him and Dan nodded. "Because otherwise the plan won't work,"
"What's the plan?"
"Well, you need to get closer to Phil again, become close friends again and then once he trusts you enough, which will probably take some time, ask him how he feels still and then boom, happy Dan and Phil," Damian said quickly and Dan looked a bit worried. "That's obviously not the detailed version but we will talk about that later okay. But now I need to get some food as I am hungry," Damian told him in a rush and Dan laughed.
"Go get food before you explode. I'm going to stop wallowing in self pity and actually do something now," Dan said with some enthusiasm in his voice.
"Skyrim doesn't count,"
"It does,"
"No, maybe you could text Phil, tell him you weren't avoiding him today and that you were ill as he was worrying about you earlier, but don't tell him that. Make it sound more casual and don't do kisses, just smiley faces as it's more friendly okay? Okay! Now I am talking really fast and I need food so go go go!" Damian yelled at him and Dan laughed as he ran down the stairs to grab some food, realising the many sweets Chris had given him probably hadn't been the best idea considering he was now as hyper as hell. Oh well, he thought, grabbing a chocolate bar from the cupboard and taking a bite, being healthy was stupid.
Nobody shoot me for this, but I have started a new story... And am still leaving my old ones on haitus (I'm so sorry) but I really like this idea and have already started it so yeah. It's called Brotherly love and I have just posted it so please go read it because I think you'll like it :) (I really hope you'll like it)
And I have just realised two of a kind only has around roughly 4 chapters left! :o but I am definitely doing a sequel for it in the future as I need to finalise some ideas and I don't wanna say goodbye to these characters so be patient when it's over. (Also there will be a secret well not so secret now special chapter once it's over which you can look forward to)
Anyway I have nothing to say about my life so anyways
