North stood up, yelling. "You lie! He is not dying!"
I blinked slowly at him, trying not to roll my eyes at his arrogant certainty.
"North is right." Jack commented. "He spoke to me, not ten minutes ago."
"That be as it may, he is still dying."
"How?" Bunny asked. "Isn't he immortal?"
"No," I scoffed at his stupidity. "Just very long lived. And, before someone asks, no he isn't dying of old age. He's being poisoned, by a shapeshifter called Kronos."
"The mythical Greek Titan?" the Tooth Fairy asked, sceptical.
"Convenient huh?" I drawled. "Castrated his father... ate his children... However, they just share the same name. Kronos the shape-shifter has been around for eight years, poisoning Man in Moon, and attacking the Mother."
Sandy, who hadn't been a part of the conversation until then, created a massive golden question mark above his head.
I rolled my eyes as I replied. "Kronos is killing Man in Moon. We need to stop him, if you all still want to exist."
"What?!" Jack squeaked.
"I wasn't talking to you Frost." I said, probably too harshly. "You're Gaia, not the moon. However, the rest of you were created by the moon, and he channels your power. If Kronos kills him, by extension, he'll be killing you four as well."
"Who's...?" Jack began, but North interrupted.
"We? Why do we need you? We took out Pitch Black, why not this Kronos?"
I snorted. "Pitch Black is nothing special, just a nightmare invented by little children who are scared of the dark. He may be a monster, but Kronos is a demon."
"What's the difference? They're synonyms." Tooth responded with a 'Duh' look.
I rolled my eyes again. "Let's put it this way. A dragon is terrorising a village. The people point in his direction and scream monster, to which he looks behind him. A demon entering the same village, hearing the same cry, will laugh, knowing he is so much worse than a monster, and he revels in that knowledge, loving being evil to his very core."
"In that case, I wouldn't say that Pitch was only a monster. He knew he was wrong."
"Did he know? He was just preserving his existence, and to do so he needed to get rid of all of you. Kronos doesn't have anything to gain, he's doing this for fun."
"Aria," Jack said after a minute of silence. "Please can we have a moment alone to process all of your new information?"
"Sure." I said, grateful the interrogation was over.
I got up, as gracefully as possible, and left the room, closing the door softly behind me.
I turned left and soon emerged into a casual seating area. I went over and curled up on the window seat nearest to the crackling fire, opening my palm and allowing a flame to grow and dance in my hand like a ballerina, instantly calming my over-wrought nerves.
(A/N) Sorry this one is so short. I promise to upload another one soon! Enjoy!
