"What the hell is wrong with you?" The pear shaped fairy yelled as she barged into the room.

I closed my fist on the tiny fire ballerina dancing to Giselle in my palm. I took my time looking up at her before answering.

"I'm sorry, I'm afraid I don't understand the question. Some context might be needed for me to reply with any certainty." I gazed calmly into her pink (possibly albino?) eyes and kept my face studiously blank.

My answer seemed, oddly enough, to enrage her even more. I wouldn't be surprised, at that point, if the clichéd steam came out of her ears. As a short tempered fire user, that had actually happened to me, but I didn't know if annoying tooth fairies had the same characteristics as me though.

"Maybe Jack can't see it, but I can." She screeched, at a pitch that dogs would whine at, causing me to wince. I hadn't known that humans could make that high a noise. "You're evil," she continued, "and you're going to tear the Guardians apart so Pitch can regain power!"

Her declaration was so ridiculous and unexpected that I laughed. "You can't be serious."

"Oh, I am. And I'm willing to bet that Kronos doesn't even exist. Whatever makes your story believable?"

I considered taking her up on that bet, but I had a strong suspicion that she would kill me. "You're deluded." I said instead, opening my palm to resume my ballet.

Grabbing a cup off the coffee table in the middle of the room, she hurled it at me. I raised a wall of fire between the china and I, and it caught alight as it flew through. I raised my hand and caught the fiery mug, grinning at her after I lowered the fire wall.

"You really shouldn't have done that."
