I heard someone yelling outside. There was a banging on the door of the dorm room.
"Please somebody help! She's dying!!"they cried. Daniel and I sat up and looked at each other. I got up and ran to the door. I opened it and saw Opal. She was crying and looked terrified."James p-please! Help her! This thing just came out of no where and- It just- and she-!"she sobbed, shaking. This was weird.
"Slow down! Who?"I asked. She pointed to the mist coming from the windows of the girls dormitory.
"Samantha!!"she cried. My eyes widened and I grabbed my wand. I didn't care about breaking into the girls dorm. Samantha's life was at stake!
Opal lead me to the room. I turned the door knob but it wouldn't budge. Oh crap!
Opal was crying hysterically, praying. I could hear wind howling and wispy whispers from the room. It was a wraith. I waved my wand at the knob and tried opening it. No use. Finally I stepped back.
"Back up a little, Opal."I said. She did so, still crying. I backed up a bit more so I could get a running start. I ran towards the door and leap into the air. I kicked the door in with all my might and it fell to the ground. The room was filled with mist and there they were. The Wraith and Samantha. I felt something tug at my heart. Something warm....and strong. The thought of losing her stabbed me in the heart. Pain and discomfort filled my head, but along with hope and something else. I waved my wand at the wraith and a bright light blasted from the tip. The wraith hissed, pulling away from Samantha. It faltered, whispering curses. With the last of my mana, I dropped my wand and waved my hands, casting a spell."You leave her alone, you hear me, you bastard?!"he said. Golden light danced around my hands. It tingled a bit, but I didn't care.
"The light shall burn you!"I shouted and with one last bit of power, I hurled it towards the wraith. It hissed and screamed before it was only a pile of ashes.I could hardly move. I looked down and saw Samantha lying on the floor. I stumbled towards her, a potion in my hand. I fell to my knees next to her and gently held her in my arms. I felt weak, but all I wanted was to make sure she was safe. I trembled as I opened the bottle. I put it up to her lips and made sure she got all of it. She seemed pale and sick. It hurt my heart. She was so beautiful though. She was in my arms, safe and sound. I heard Opal still crying.
Suddenly, she coughed. She gasped and kept coughing.
"What the heck? What's this taste in my mouth?!"she groaned. I couldn't help but laugh. I hugged her tightly, smiling happily."You're alive!"I cried. She seemed silent before pushing me away.
"James?! What are you doing here!? Get out!"she demanded. Then Opal ran over and hugged her."Oh Sammy! You scared me so badly!"she cried, sobbing. Samantha hugged back, smiling.
"I'm okay. Don't worry."Well fine then. Nevermind. Don't thank me for saving your beautiful behind. I groaned, getting up.
"Alright then. Don't die this time. Okay ladies?"I say, walking out through the broken doorway. It figures... She does hate me. No way would she ever love me.
I sighed and headed back to my dorm. Everyone was crowded outside, confused from the screaming and yelling before.I felt like someone had stabbed me in the heart a million times. I flopped on my bed and cried.... I just cried.
