"Samantha....... Excuse me.... Samantha dear?...."someone calls. Samantha snores, drooling on her desk. The life teacher, Moolinda Wu, finally walks over and taps her shoulder.
"If you're going to sleep the whole class, then I suggest you go back to your dorm."she says. Samantha groans, yawning.
"What?"she looks around. The class is snickering and whispering. Suddenly the dismissal bell dings and everyone gets packed up."That's all for today everyone! Remember to practice the imp for your homework!"she says. Samantha gets up, getting her stuff together. Moolinda puts her hoof on Samantha's shoulder.
"You should get more sleep. You've just started and you're already slipping."
Samantha blinks.
"Sorry. I'll try harder, ma'am."she says, frowning. Moolinda thinks.
"Perhaps life isn't such a good class for you. why don't you try death instead?" She suggests. Samantha nods.
"Yes ma'am. I will" she wipes the drool from her face and heads out of the life class. Death next. She walks past the Storm school, ice school, and fire school. She almost drops her books when she sees the floating rubble and open stars. There's no Death school!!She sighs, looking around. Nothing. Then someone bumps her with their shoulder and walks past. They don't acknowledge her at all. She growls.
"Excuse me! Watch where you're going! I could have fallen!"She snaps. They turn around and look at her. It's a young man, with deep, dark blue eyes and sandy blonde hair. He gives her a sharp glare.
"Watch where you're going." He snaps back. She growls.
"Ugh! Despicable..." she mumbles to herself, picking up her books that she dropped. Suddenly, a hand grabs one of her books.“Let me help you..."someone says. Samantha looked up to see the same guy. Same hair and same eyes. Yet he was helping her.
“I'm really sorry for bumping into you."he says, gathering up the rest of her books. She looked up at him, clutching her Death book. He looks at her as well, the both of them drawn in a trance. Then, a voice calls out.
"Sorry I'm late, everyone! I got held up with Professor Drake, the Myth teacher!" A young man, about their age walks up with a staff and a dark jester wizard hat. He looks at all the students.
"I'm afraid you haven't known about the death school disappearing I presume? Well, after the last teacher, everything hasn't been so good for us! Anyway, welcome everyone! I am your death teacher for now. I will teach you the art of death and curses. Now beware. This school is very dangerous and difficult, but I'm sure you've got what it takes."Everyone sits in the grass and listens. Samantha takes out her death book and starts sketching in it. She looked up at the boy who bumped into her. He looked proper and had a perfect posterior. He notices her looking at him and smiles. He waves politely to her before looking back at the teacher. She looked away, feeling her face grow hot, but continued to draw.
"Now, let's begin with the dark sprite. Does anyone know what that spell does?"
Samantha raises her hand.
"It drains the life of the enemy you're fighting." She says. The teacher nods."Yes! Good! Now let's start with imagining it. Once you've imagined it, the image will appear in front of you. Now, try to do so."
Everyone tries. Some get it, but others get not effect. Samantha gets it right the first try. That boy does as well. He even gets it to move. The teacher watches and smiles.
"Well done! Already a passing grade to you, Mr. Deatheart."he claps. The image of the dark fairy flies over to Samantha. It blows a kiss to her, then hugs the dark fairy image she made. Both fairies suddenly poof.
Samantha gasps, surprised. She felt her cheeks grow hot and turned almost as red as her hair."Yet using these spells to flirt isn't acceptable..."the teacher sighs, looking at the boy.
The Deatheart boy rubs the back of his neck with embarrassment, but glances at Samantha again. His blue eyes were fearless and strong, but gentle and warm. They were hard to ignore. She gulps nervously, managing to look away.
After about an hour the school bell rings and everyone gathered up their books and studies. Samantha grabs her books quickly and runs off. She didn't look back, far too embarrassed to even look at the boy. She runs to the Commons, dashing quickly to the shopping district. When she turns the corner leading to the sandwich shop, she collides into something. She gasps, falling backwards.
“Oh goodness! I've got you!" A familiar voice says as a pair of arms steady her. Samantha gasps, backing up.
“Y-you! I-... What are you doing here?!" She asks, her face flushing. The Deathheart guy smiles, chuckling softly.
“I was just....wandering around Wizard City... Also I was looking for you."He says, clutching the workbook in his arms tighter. Samantha raises and eyebrow, confused on his reasoning.“Looking for me? Why?" She asks, trying her hardest to act calm.
“Well I have a friend that works at the sandwich shop.... Would you like to come?" His face turns a light shade of red as he asks. Samantha thinks to herself. Was he....asking her out? No way! She hardly even knew him! He hardly knew her as well! No!
“Sorry I can't... I have a lot of studying to do. Maybe...another time?.."she shrugs, striding past him. He watches her go.
“U-uh... Sure.... Another time..."he murmurs.
