Sayuri walked inside the house slowly with small steps and a tired expression. She slowly took off her shoes and threw them aside untidily in the corner. She starred down at her shoes discarded without a care. She remembered something her mother told her a few years back. She'd had a bad day and was feeling like she was on the verge of tears. She hid herself in the bathroom for an hour. Her mother had come to the door and unlocked it coming in and holding her as she cried. Her mother told her of a habit she had noticed from Sayuri. Whenever she came home and didn't pick up her shoes something was wrong. Sayuri bent down and fixed her shoes laying them out neatly before crouching down to the floor and taking a deep breath. She couldn't let herself cry, if her mother found out; or worse her dad. She needed to fix this herself. She'd to tell him stop, maybe tell a teacher if he didn't. She smiled. She attempted to control herself as she sat their leaning against the wall in front of the door. She didn't hear anyone in the house not even Marty. Her mom must have taken her to the grocery store. Her dad was at work and Akira was at school. It was quiet, peaceful, relaxing, and lonely. She never liked a quiet house. It always felt empty. She may have been the loudest in the family but she felt rather empty without them. Those were the only three people in the world for her. She didn't care about anyone else. She would be fine as long as she had them. She wondered if she'd ever find someone she loves more than her family. Someone she'd leave them for. Someone she wouldn't mind being lonely for.
Sayuri had played it off nicely she kept herself from tears and logically looked at the situation. She planned out how she should approach it and when it was time to bring in an adult. She managed to act as cheery as normal, chasing Akira around and complaining to mom. She didn't think she fooled them. Her mother was more attentive than normal, her dad was less strict, and her brother even put up with her cuddles. Only for a minute though he quickly escaped afterwards. She sat in her room studying at her desk with her pink pen writing black lining of kanji onto the paper. She loved the way the words looked and the way the pen felt against her finger tips. She sighed again. This time one of relief as she let out all that emotion in a sigh; she'd be fine. She could deal with it. With a new determination, she went to bed cuddled in her bed pulling the covers up to her nose and fell asleep.
The next day she awoke feeling refreshed and determined. A few doubts swirled in her mind. Would it be better to bear with it till the weekend and hope he gets bored? He did seemed like he was bored earlier when he called out to her in the courtyard. Maybe he wanted her to retaliate. She questioned her earlier assessment. She knew she had to do something. She finally headed out to school a little late today. But she would make it in time if she hurried. She dashed out the door towards school with an anxious feeling in her stomach not knowing what to expect.
As soon as she made it into class she sat in her seat anxiously starring out the window. She turned to look at the three girls she eaten with the afternoon two days ago. They had been fervently ignoring her much to her satisfaction. Hopefully they'd continue and it wouldn't escalate to bullying or anything. She wondered if they too were looking for a response. Maybe she should fake that she cares or something. She giggled at the thought. No, she'd merely do what she'd been doing till this point. She really didn't care.
She couldn't read during breaks she was too anxious to get enveloped in a story. She wondered when he'd strike again or if he'd given up from his last reaction. It didn't take long for him to show up. She'd hid out in her class room all day. After being excused from gym today due to her bathroom problems yesterday which was misinterpreted as 'that time of month', She did feel kind of quilt but to be honest she never lied she never said what was wrong, She sat at her desk anxiously doodling in her notebook. She kept looking up at the door every now and then. It was near the end of school and she'd avoided him all day. She had her head down one the desk cradling it in her arms too tired to be embarrassed about it. A male classmate did come over to ask if she was alright and if he needed to take her to the nurse. But she refused and apologized for worrying him. She felt his gaze on her back for some time right before he left to head to club he asked if he could walk her home. She had no reason to refuse and she accepted. Just and the end of class Aomine appeared. She watched him as he came up to her classroom and thoroughly intimidated the boy standing there at the door. She pretended not to notice but her saw her looking and she knew it. She felt embarrassed that he caught her. He spoke to the boy and she watched the boy blush as Aomine continued to speak to him urging him to do something. Sayuri had a pretty good idea of what he wanted him to do. "Tits!" Aomine called out and let out a brief laugh as everyone jumped at the lewd word looking around. Sayuri instantly stood up and walked to the door with a blush on her cheeks. She didn't know what to do but she was so angry and embarrassed she didn't care. She did the first thing that came to mind. She strolled up to him her fingers clenched with an embarrassed expression on her beat red face as the other students watched in amazement. He stood there with an almost excited expression. Like he knew what was coming. She walked up to him and held up her arm to slap his face. He quickly anticipated her movements and grabbed her wrist holding her arm in place. "That's more like it." She giggled excitedly. She gasped and unclenched her fist. "I'm sorry I shouldn't have tried to hit you, like that." She paused with an apologetic look on her face as she face the ground his rough strong grip around her pale slim wrist. She tilted her head down and knew what she should do. She tilted her head back up staring at him right into his steel blue eyes that sparkled with excitement as he saw her expression. She was serious again, determined, all traces of emotion, shyness, and anger free from her voice. "But I'll warn you if you call me that again I won't just slap you." He could see that cold look in her eyes again the same conquering look he saw in her eyes that day. She was speaking confidently and loudly standing straight and independent. She may not have been strong willed but when it came down to it she was strong. Well enough to put her emotions behind her. She was feisty under that timid exterior. He laughed as she opened her wide in surprise a little of her strength lost with his loud laugh. "Alright you've convinced me, Sayuri." He said her name for the first time. I maybe have been her first name without any honorifics but she was still relieved it was better than tits. He let go of her hand and turned down the hallway to leave turning back towards her to leave as he strolled away into the deserted hallway. He turned back to her and called over his shoulder not caring that all the classrooms in the building could hear him. "See you later Sayuri. She blushed lightly but kept her expression firm as she watched him leave. She let out a deep breath and clenched her fingers together for comfort after he was gone. That was easy she should have done that in the first place. Maybe she could get him to leave her alone completely. She turned to the classroom to see almost the whole class crowed at the door watching the exchanged. Her face light up red and she bowed down to apologize. "I'm sorry, for the noise." She quickly ran back into the classroom and started packing her things. "Ms. Kobayashi, are you alright, are you in any kind of trouble." The boy that had been worried about her asked with a concerned expression. "No, it's alright, he's just an acquaintance, I had a small disagreement with, I am sorry I worried you." She explained as vaguely as possible. She knew everyone was listening in and pretending not to be. "Oh and I'll walk home myself today Mr. Fujimoto, I wasn't feeling well I'm sorry I couldn't wait for you." She bowed a little hurriedly to him. "No its fine." He smiled rubbing the back of his head. "I'll skip club today and take you home early."Fujimoto protested. Sayuri replied. "No, no need to go out of your way for me." She rejected the idea. "I couldn't let you go home alone if you're feeling well, please I insist." He pressed further. She gave in. "Alright, thank you very much." She had wanted to walk home herself but he seemed really worried. She was a little excited as she'd never walked home with a boy and had rejected anyone who asked. But she was feeling rather spent today as well as victorious. She though Fujimoto was a very cute boy and talkative he could keep up the conversation without her really participating, thus she accepted.
