It was ending. Today was her last day here. She would be heading back home to her family. Somehow it felt like she'd only just arrived there. It had a crazy few days unlike another. She hadn't seen her family in a while and missed them. Her slight anxious ways were still present as she was still uncomfortable without the security of her family around. But non the less she was happy she came on the trip.

Now she lay in bed unable to sleep lying her side with her head against the plush hotel pillows. She stared out into the dark room only able to see rough outlines of shapes in the fuzzy darkness of the room. She was content with just lying there. Her body was tried from all the days of crazy play she had experienced. When she got home and calmed down she would undoubtedly sleep for days, but now she couldn't sleep despite her exhaustion.

She wondered how long she had been laying there. Hunger was starting to sneak up on her and she finally pulled herself up. She had a few bucks she could go buy a bag of chips from a vending machine. Pulling her robe around her form and tying it shut she wondered messy she looked as she tried to see her reflection in the bathroom mirror in the dark. Shrugging the thought off and not bothering to address  her appearance she walked to the front door and pulled it open just enough to exit.

She quietly walked down the hall. The hotel was quiet, no one in the halls, the few people awake were either just arriving to the hotel after a long trip or stationed at the front desk to watch the door. It was a good two in the morning after all. As she thought about it she released she really should sleep if she wanted to be able to make the trip back.

Walking into the breakfast room she noticed someone standing outside through the window. She wouldn't have cared but this figure was familiar. walking over to the glass she could see it was Haruki standing on the other side of the glass. He was staring up at the stars with a content expression.

Rather then questioning what he was doing, something she learned not to wonder with Haruki, she turned to the vending machine and quickly grabbed herself a bag of chips. After collecting it she started to the front door. Walking outside she grabbed his attention as he turned to look at her. He gave a smile and spoke. "Good morning." He greeted her. "It's not quiet morning." She said walking next to him with a pout. "What time is it?" He asked, his tone clearly said he was going to tease her and already knew. "Two in the morning." She replied as she started pulling open the chip bag. She paused for a second as she realized what she had said. He never said anything back but you could clearly read his not so innocent smile growing across his lips.

She paused for a second wondering if she had a come back but gave up and tilted her bag of chips towards him. "Want some?" She asked. He giggled slightly. He was really teasing her. "Sure, Thank you." He said pulling out a chip from her bag. She paused for a second peaking at from the corner of her eye glancing at him. She wondered how she should start a conversation. She had nothing in particular to talk about but at the same time didn't want to sit in awkward silence. Normally he was very talkative and she never ran into this problem with him. But tonight, his skin illuminated by the moonlight with his eyes glistening as he looked up to the stars. He seemed distracted, as if thinking of some distant memory with a sad nostalgic look on hi his smile.

She wondered what he was thinking about and glanced at him curiously, she was slightly startled as he finally spoke turning towards he with his smile. "You know, you remind me of her."  He must have been talking about his ex girlfriend he meationed the other day. She was now out of words. What should she say in this kind of situation?

He continued looking down at her. "My girlfriend, Mayu, she was sweet and gentle, very worried about what people thought of her. She was smart and clever once she was out of her shell. I meet her in my first year of middle school. She was had really good grades and was going to a really good high school. So I studied my heart out to join her." He paused for a second as he thought back his gaze turning to the floor and off of Sayuri.

Sayuri's heart warmed, he sounded like he was happily in innocent love. Of course she knew how this story ended and she gave a sad smile at the thought of it. "Last year she moved away, half way across the country." He leaned against the hotel wall and put his hands in his pajama pockets and continued to stare at the ground. "I begged her not to leave. She was always looking at things realistically. We were only fifteen, she loved and wanted to follow her family, she wasn't going to throw a fit over some young first love that she knew had little chance of succeeding. She always said that, looked at the reality of things and I got caught up in her perfection. Maybe she was right we are just two kids caught up in the idea if love."

"But she really loved me, I know that, She tried so hard not to cry when she finally left. I said we could be long distance, but she knew those rarely work. She said I'd meet someone I really loved and move on. I don't thing she ever understood how much I loved her. I don't think I ever realized how much I loved her."

He finally turned back to Sayuri as she silently watched him with a supportive sad smile. He gave one back. "You really are just like her." After a second of silence. Sayuri a little embarrassed and wondering what to say to him held out her chips again. He took another and giggled. She finally spoke avoiding his eyes as she spoke. "I'm sure you two will be happy, no matter where you end up." She said the only thing she could.

He was a smart and kind boy, gentle but realistic when he needed to be. She was sure he could make any girl happy. She was positive no matter what he would find happiness. She had little more to say, she knew little of his situation, or this Mayu he pined for, but she knew this much at least. It was the only she could say in that moment. "Thank you." She smiled at honestly pleased. "She said something like that two I think." He said under his breath for moment. "What kind of chips are these anyway. " He asked with his innocent air returning to him. She turned down to them for a moment. "They are really good, I should get myself a bag, I'm kind of peckish." He said with a smile.
