"Stop right there."Minerva heard Dhriti growling. Umm.. okay, This wasn't unexpected. In fact very much expected! "Chill dude. I don't want to stay in this room either. It's just I thought, now that we are actually husband-wife and we can do nothing of it... So, anyways.. I will shift to the guest room. I too need some privacy." Minerva led her trolley to the guest room. The Guptas and Roys gasped at them.
"Guys, why are you so shocked? What did you all expect? Dhriti da will forget Tiya so soon and start living with me? We will share a happy conjugal life?" Minerva rolled her eyes sending everyone out of their wits. Her mom immediately scolded her for speaking like that but she stood with the same air of attitude.
"Didi, please don't mind her words. She is not like this. I don't know what has gotten into her.." Mina's mom started explaining to Dhriti's mom, but she (Mrs. Gupta) silenced her (Mrs. Roy). "I don't know what to say, your daughter is correct. But, I am the mother..." and once again her dam broke.

Hmm...hmmm...hmmm...hmmm.. Minerva humming some odd tune was arranging her room. Her parents and in-laws have left a couple of hours ago. She did miss her parents, but being brought up away from her parents she could gather herself better than other newlyweds.
Dhriti da is indeed very well organised. She chuckled turning her neck to every corner of the room. Bed sheets, cushions, curtains, lamp shade everything well kept! Unpacking her luggage, she was filling the wardrobe when the lady came.
"Mina boudimoni, your tea." She chipped passing the cup. Seeing the family drama she had already guessed the summary of the story, but she was pretty confused with her 'boudimoni's' behaviour. Which girl is so comfortable with husband's ignorant angry attitude? Hell, he didn't let her enter to his bedroom even. And here she was humming and arranging the guestroom as if she would permanently stay here. "Are you not feeling sad? Or angry? Boudimoni..." she gulped. May be this time Minerva breaks down, may be she was just acting strong in front of her parents.
"Oh, Kamala Masi.." and Kamala masi flinched back, cause for the first time someone had pulled her cheeks. Yes, Minverva had exactly done that. And in few minutes making a long story short, no very short, she said everything. And again kamala masi kept gawking at her. She was searching some hints of tears, if not tears, at least grief. But no, Minerva was sparkling, as if this marriage didn't make any difference to her.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Dadamoni, taste this. Boudimoni made this." Kamala masi handed him the little tray topped with a bowl full of soup. Chicken-lemon-coriander soup, Dhriti's favourite. Minerva made it as per her instruction. And soon the bowl was about to kiss the floor when it was caught, and a shriek left her voice, and Kamala masi's too.
Dhriti threw the bowl but it was caught by Minerva. As a result, the steamy hot soup spilled over hand. And thus the shriek. Tears trickled down her eyes. But her fists clenched.
"I don't want to see your face!" they hear him. "Enough Dhriti da." Kamala masi shivered at the coldness of her boudimoni's voice, even Dhriti was startled. But she continued..
"Listen Dhritiman Gupta, I too have been forced into this marriage, just like you. So stop behaving like this. Today is the first time, so I am letting you go, but the next time you throw food, I will make sure you eat it from floor itself and clean the floor too. What?? You don't want me to cook for you. Okay fine, masi will cook for you and run your every errand. I will not cross your path. But remember, don't waste a single morsel. Otherwise, you know. I do what I say, you know right? And yes, your girl friend is not dead. She is very much alive. So stop mourning. At least in front of me!"
Both Dhriti and Kamala masi kept looking at her. Dhriti could not believe that little girl was bossing him, that too in this fashion! "Masi, where is the first aid box? My hand has burned." Kamala masi's trance broke at her words..
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
God! Oh no. How the heck did I lose my temper again? Oh no! Shit. What do I now? But I don't think I have said anything wrong. Why should I bear his wrath? Why should I suffer for someone else's fault? No Dhritiman, I am not just any girl. I am Minerva Roy,I won't let you screw my life like this. I know you are my husband. I will do what every wife does. But that does not mean I will take your shits. No. Never! Minerva oathed.
