Well, the evening hopped into the night. And the new Gupta couple realised, it wasn't their flat, but it was their house. And unlike the flat, here, they had to share the room!
Minerva paused for a second, while Dhritiman ran a train of thoughts. Shaking out a pyjama and t-shirt, she smirked "I am so intelligent."
"And I am an imbecile." he fisted his knuckles eyeing hard his trolley.
-------------------------------------------
"Dada! She is your wife!" Riddhiman almost screamed on his brother. He could not just gulp the fact that Dhriti is actually feeling shy in front of his own married wife. Legally married wife. He (Dhriti) frowned at his younger's words. Why the hell did he only bring his boxers for sleeping! Why the shit he didn't guess that with parents around he would have to share the room with Minerva. How could that girl bring pyjamas instead of those three quarters she generally wears. On the other hand, Riddhi could not imagine why his brother could not sleep in boxers with his wife.
"Ato kotha kiser? Pyjama dite bolechhi. Dibi." Dhriti roared. (WHY WASTING WORDS? I'VE ASKED YOU FOR A PYJAMA, GIVE THAT). "Debo na. Ja. Chaddi pore sho." Riddhi retorted back. (I WON'T GIVE. GO. SLEEP IN YOUR UNDERWEARS)
"Seriously dada, you have tantrums more than a girl. Now, out." and with that Dhriti was thrown out of his brother's room. Thank god he didn't go to his dad. He would surely have reacted more than Riddhi. Lost, he returned to his room.
----------------------------------------------------
Jotting plans from saving himself from his wife's mockery, he entered his room. And his eye pooped out. There, Minerva was sitting on the floor with a heap of some gorgeous clothes. And some wraps papers.
"What are these? Opening your business here too?" those words came out of his mouth even before he realised. Minerva, who till now was engrossed in her work turned sharp. "Dhriti! I know we don't share a conventional nuptial life. But at least I can expect you to respect me. Right?" "Hey..." "I agree, I am very much career oriented, but that does not mean I'll think of business everywhere. These are gifts, as I am visiting our families after our marriage, for the first time." With the last words she made quotation marks in the air. And Dhriti was again clean bowled. What was this girl made of? Everything was under her vigilance! The saris were indeed very pretty. Hey, isn't scarlet is mom's favourite colour! That scarlet sari. Gosh, this girl when will stop amazing me. Dhriti thought to himself, but..
"Hey, I am sorry. I really didn't mean that business thing. It was just.." again his tongue rolled out the words in a reflex as he traced hints of tears in her eyes. Shit! Dhriti you better shut your mouth. "It's okay Dhriti. Good night."
Wrapping the last packet she got up. Tugging the sheet she lied on one side of the bed. "Switch off the lights when you are done. And yes you can sleep on the bed. No issue." Dhriti nodded and walked to washroom.
----------------------------------------------
"Are you insane?" Minerva yelled gaping at her husband who was about to lie down in a wet towel. "Hain?? Am tired Minu. Not now please.." "What the hell. I will not allow you to sleep in towel. That too in a wet one." she gritted her teeth. "Minu..." he mewled. But Minerva being strict with her rules stuck to her point. And Dhritiman being the stubborn mule stuck to his.
"Drhiti, one last time. I am saying, put off that towel. Otherwise.." "Otherwise ! What haan?" and in fraction of seconds the towel was snapped off. And.. and.. and.. oops.. Dhriti turned around. Minerva's jaw dropped.
She gasped at the sight! She started laughing mewingly, trying hard to stop, made weird noise and finally broke into a loud laughter.
There stood her husband in Mickey Mouse printed little boxer!
