Babare! I would have never guessed there are this many work to do in a house! Hang up the washed clothes, change the sides, check which ones are dry, fold the dry ones, and iron them! And that's only with clothes! Ugh! Even with Kamala Masi around, there is so much to do! And what is Minerva doing so long in the kitchen? Lunch was over a long time ago! No. I have to see myself.
Dhritiman got up heading towards the kitchen. It has been quiet a time waiting for her in the balcony. But whoa! The kitchen is empty. Not again!
The guestroom door was open. So he didn't had to peep in. But he as he stepped on threshold, something stopped him. Minerva was sitting on the bed slouching, with laptop, face scowled eyes narrowed!
What she is doing sitting like that?
"What are you doing sitting like that just after lunch?" Dhritiman asked and quickly went back to the drawaing room, coming back with a cushion. "Dhuke ja screen ta taye ebar." He scowled. (GET INTO THE SCREEN NOW) (GHUS JA SCREEN K ANDAR)
Minerva looked up. Her concerned face, biting lips slowly turned into smile at the sight of the cushion. Chipping a thank you she took hold of the cushion.
"We just took our lunch Minu. Is it really necessary to sit with the laptop right now?"
Minerva bit her lips again. Would it be okay to tell him? But he himself is immersed in his work. That too those criminal kind of work! But with their this new phase, she should say. But... but again...
"What are you thinking about Minu?" He was done with standing at the edge of the bed. Settling on her bed, he asked.
"Minu... come on...What did we decide back there?"
She nodded. True enough. So.. Okay, let's do it..
"My showroom.."
"What happened?"
"The landlord has died."
"Landlord?"
"My showroom, the landlord?" she looked at him in utter surprise.
"Dhriti! Did you really think I own that two thousand five hundred square feet showroom, in that posh area?" her eyelids almost touched her brows as she widened her eyes.
"You don't.." he murmured, feeling like an utter idiot. Really Dhriti, how could he be so stupid? But how could he know, when he never went to her showroom. The only time he went there, the shutter was down.
"So, you are planning to change the location? Searching new places?" He finally managed covering up his, what he thought was silliness.
Her face crumbled suddenly. "I don't want to!" her voice chocked.
Dhritiman looked at her in horror. Not when she was forcefully married to him, not when he stopped her from entering the bedroom, not even then when police had dragged him to the police station, did she seem like this!
"Minu.." He stretched towards her and took her into his arms. Both didn't realise though.
"The landlord's daughter is settled abroad. She is planning to sell off the property and take her mother with her."
He ran his fingers through her hair. "Why don't you try to buy it? No, listen to me once. I can contribute too. In fact I am very willing to." He had quickly calculated his savings and funds. He could easily contribute up to 10 lacks.
