I am so fortunate to work in a place where you don't have to wear a suit to work. I am a jeans and t-shirts kinda girl, so it's great getting to work in such a casual environment (holla wattpad!)
So jeans I knew would be a critical thing to get right, and I was willing to spend a bit more, knowing I would be wearing them most of all.
Stop #1: H&M
If you are fortunate to live in America, or downtown Toronto, you have access to H&M Maternity. Yep - that's right! The Eaton's Centre location of H&M has a (small) but good maternity section! They really have the basics - jeans, a handful of dresses, tights, tops.
I lucked out right away and found a pair of black jeans, and a pair of distressed black/grey jeans. Now my going out uniform was basically set, haha! All their jeans are full coverage (meaning - no waistband, and instead a fabric bit that goes right up under your boobs. So comfy.
*In London last week - wearing the H&M pants and Kit and Ace shirt (and totally catching Pokemon)
Stop #2: GAP.com
In Canada at least, GAP does not have maternity clothes in stores. But they do have a GREAT selection online. And they have the best return policy on the planet, and constantly have good sales. Never pay full price at GAP, seriously. You cray.
They have the latest styles (skinny, boyfriend etc.), and they have pockets that actually work, and are not sewn on for looks. And if you don't love full coverage, you can also order pants with inset panels or mid rise panels (good for those hot summers, as I realized too late).
*7 months - at Platform 9 3/4 on a recent trip to London (hey, you can't work at wattpad if you don't love Harry Potter!)
This is my most worn outfit so far - GAP jeans, white top, Brooklyn Industries jacket and Botkier bag. Ugh I wish I didn't look like such a tool in this pic, but I was really excited.
