Shopping online is probably the best resource for the Canadian mom-to-be. I know I've mentioned GAP.com a few times, simply because they are so easy to buy from, ship fast, and have a very simple and efficient return process - critical for a body that is constantly changing shape!
Other great online resources:
A huge thank you to AshleighGardner for introducing me to this UK brand. This is probably the most stylish maternity wear I've come across. They display prices in $CAD, and offer free shipping worldwide. Their stuff is also really great looking, from staples to more formal wear. They even have multipacks, with standard t-shirts and tank tops in 3 colors (usually black, white, and one other colour) The price points are great as well, but keep in mind Tax and Duties will be charged on delivery! Because it comes from the UK though, sizing can be a bit dodgy (1/2 of the items I bought were much too large), and returns are too big a pain to make it worthwhile. This post reminded me to check out their site, so I did a bit more shopping this week :)
Lots of really cute stuff here! But I had a hard time justifying the price difference between this and H&M, so to be honest, I didn't end up trying anything from here.
I've been a fan of well.ca for years now. This is a great place to get things like - belly bands, nursing tops, belly cream, panty liners (don't ask), and all the cookies and candy you'll need to get you through this experience. Plus all the baby junk you'll be needing, from bottles to....other things babies need. Free shipping, super fast. Love Well.ca.
Gilt.com is a US-based app that sells designer stuff at a discount. Best of all - they ship to Canada (for a small fee), but all taxes and duties are INCLUDED. No surprises at your local post office. This is a great site that gives you access to top US maternity brands like Imanimo, Pea in the Pod, Momo Maternity and Ingrid & Isabel (the makers of my favorite t-shirt). Just beware - no returns or exchanges!
*6 months. Fav GAP boyfriend jeans and Ingrid & Isabel top from Gilt
Kit and Ace is basically a store for high end basics (thanks to AshleighGardner for another great intro! T-shirts, tank tops, dresses and pants in "technical cashmere". Their stuff is INSANELY comfortable, washes up well, and looks great. The shirts are long enough, and because they are not maternity specific, there is NO rouching! Hooray! Normal clothes that don't look like maternity junk!
Pro Tip: Its pretty expensive (like $120 for a t-shirt), so try to only buy on sale here --- but if you do that, make sure you know your size, as there are NO returns on sale merch!
