Armin x Reader: Heartbreaker (High School AU)

You smile flirtatiously at the shy blonde. You had honestly never seen him before, but had heard a bit about him from your friend, Sasha. Sasha was really friends with a lot of people so you had a bit of information on everyone. According to her the boy was Armin Arlert.

You were a pretty big flirt in your old school and had even been given the nickname "Heartbreaker" by a bunch of the kids. You were unpredictable and had never given a boy more than one chance to win your heart.

As you walk through the halls you see the loudest boy in the school, Erin, fighting with his girlfriend Misaki. You sigh and walk over to them before giving the biggest smile you had ever forced on your face. You and Misaki had never gotten along well.

"Come on. You two can't be seen fighting. You have to uphold your images as the school's best couple! If it will make you feel better I'll go on a double date with you two," you say to the dark haired couple.

Misaki gives you a glare and pushes you away from her. You stumble a little ways away before putting your hand over your heart. You feign a hurt look and look Misaki in the eye.

"Why would you do such a thing to me? I'm so offended."

You wink at Eren and hold your hand out to him. In between your fingers is a note. He takes it and you walk away wiggling your fingers.

You hear Misaki growling and struggling behind you. You shrug and continue on your way straining to listen to the conversation behind you.

"Calm down Misaki it was just a joke! I'm sure she didn't mean to put in such a cutesy way. She probably doesn't want to date me anyway. Hasn't she gotten her love confession yet? I mean he did say that he was going to ask her out right?" Eren's voice carries through the nearly empty hall.

"I'm going to rip her to pieces!" Misaki yells.

You wince and walk to the door. You head out into the parking lot and search for a spot to relax. It took most of your energy not to fight with Misaki. The only rational thought you could think about when she was around was that it wasn't worth getting sent to the hospital for fighting with her.

The door behind you slams open and you turn around. In a flash, a fist flies towards your face. You look at an angry Misaki while Eren rushes out after her. He grabs Misaki's arm as she reaches back to hit you again.

Blood fills your mouth. Your face starts to swell and bruise. You spit out a bit of blood and spit on the ground at Misaki's feet. Rubbing your lip, you wince and look away. Smiling to yourself, you put your hand lightly on your cheek.

"Was that really necessary? Now you could get banned from school! Is that really what you wanted?!" Eren shouts.

You raise your hand and wave at him. They both give you a rude look which you ignore. You stand up straight again before facing them with a big smile.

"It's fine. No one will know anything if you tell. I'll just say my brother accidentally hit me with his remote control or something. It's fine," you say reassuringly.

You give them both one last smile before walking away. Your smile drops away as you leave and you start to feel sad. Eren and Misaki seemed to love each other so much and you had no one. It was as if fate was pushing away the right person.

You climb the little hill on the other side of the parking lot. The little tree at the top was in full bloom and the petals were falling down sometimes. You sat at the base of the tree and leaned against it. Looking up, you closed your eyes and sighed. It wasn't long until the peace was disrupted though.

"Um... Are you busy right now, (Y/N)? If you are I can come back some other time! I don't want to..."

You opened your eyes and stared at the person disrupting your peace. It was the same blonde from earlier you realised. You pat the ground next to you and look away.

"Sit. I don't mind. It wasn't like I was doing anything after all," you mumble.

"A-are you sure? I can..."

"Yes! Now sit. Please? I'd actually appreciate the company. Armin wasn't it?"

He nods and cautiously takes a seat next to you. You two sit in an awkward silence for a bit. A soft breeze blows over the hill and some flowers fall softly onto the two of you. You close your eyes and smile happily.

"Um... Does it hurt any more? I can go get ice if you want. I should have brought ice here, though. Misaki did it right?" Armin asks softly.

You look over at him and just stare. You make sure to keep your face expressionless and empty as you stare. This was something that kept a lot of boys from asking you out. You didn't have the energy to actually deal with someone asking you out.

"What's that look for? I'm sorry for whatever it is I did," he says, his voice is laced with panic.

You shake your head and laugh. Normally you would have scared someone away by now, but he was one of the few that actually didn't mind. You weren't sure how you felt about that little fact.

"So Armin... What was it that you needed? I'm tired, so I should start heading home," you smile softly at him.

His face turns a brighter pink than it was before and you laugh again. He was being shy and, if you were honest with yourself, you find it cute.

"(Y/N) (L/N) can I - Can I ask you out on a date? It doesn't even have to be more than one, or anything special, but I just want to take you to, like, lunch or something. Is that okay, (Y/N)?"

You freeze slightly. You were expecting it at some time, but not like this. You had guessed that he didn't have enough courage to ask you out head on. It took you a moment to process all of that information.

Slowly, as if on its own, you hear yourself agreeing. A smile lights up his face and you feel yourself blush a little. He looked so happy and adorable at that moment.

"So this weekend? Is that okay for you?" he asks you.

"Uh... S-sure. I don't see why not. I don't think I have anything important I need to do this weekend."

Armin smiles even brighter and stands. He reaches out his hand to help you up. In that moment a little bit of your heart melts. Maybe Armin will be the one to stop your heartbreaking habits. After all a heartbreaker can only go so long before finding someone who breaks their heart.

So this is the first one shot! It is my first x reader one shot and I hope you like it. I did it for a friend and will do a part two if she wants me to. I won't do ANY lemons in this book but will take requests.
