Kaminari x Reader: Little of a Crush(Boku no Hero Academia)

Standing in the elevator, you watched at the numbers went out. You weren't the only one in the elevator but it was just the two of you. You knew him from the Sports festival a few months ago but it was highly doubtful he knew you. You were just a nobody so you just stood there, nervous.

As you fiddled with your fingers, making little plants appear, you failed to notice Kaminari staring at you. It wasn't until the lights went out a few moments later that you looked up from your feet.

"Well this is not going to help us in anyway is it?" he asked and you jumped. "By the way you're (Your Name) right?"

You hid your face, not that it mattered in the dark, and muttered a yes. You could sense him looking in your direction.

"How exactly do you know my name, Kaminari-san?" you asked while absent mindedly growing random plants in your hands. "Also can you make some light? It's pretty dark in here."

You felt a slight weight on your shoulder and felt him rub your back.

"Don't worry! At least you're not alone. I'm sure someone will find out we're stuck here and rescue you soon enough," Kaminari dodged your question. "Do you, well I'm just trying to make small talk, do you have a dating partner?"

You chuckled. This small talk wasn't that small. The two of you had just met, not that it mattered to you, you were freaking out because you really liked him, and he was asking if you were dating someone.

With a giggle you replied, "No. I have someone I like but no. If you don't my me asking what about you?"

You could tell that if there were lights, it would be obvious that you were red. In the dark, though, things like that didn't matter. No one but you could tell and you wanted it to stay that way.

"Huh? Who me? Well not really. Not really someone I'm dating but I have been keeping my eye on someone. Why do you ask, (Your Name)?" he admitted and you felt your heart sink a bit.

Crushes were things that involved playing with fire. It didn't really matter who the girl was, it just mattered that he had someone he liked. Though, if you were honest you were quite curious as to who it was.

Before either of you could say something, the lights were turned back on and the elevator finished going up. The two of you swapped numbers and went on your ways for now.

During the next month, you can Kaminari became close friends. You spent time together in and out of school and got to know each other pretty well. The main subject that you two avoided was the topic of crushes and both of you were fine with that.

"So Kaminari, you and (Your Name) have been getting pretty close. Are you going to ask her out?" Kyoka asked Kaminari as you opened the door.

No one was looking at you. Everyone had their eyes on Kaminari and you made sure to not make noise.

"Well, I mean, I don't think. How would I know?" he sputtered and looked out the window.

You stood in the doorway making sure that the door of the classroom was almost closed. Holding your breath, you waited.

After a sigh, Kaminari continued. "Well, yeah. They're wonderful. I've been meaning to ask them for a while but you don't just go up to someone and admit that you were talking to their friends to ask about them."

Suddenly Aizawa opens the door. You fall into the classroom and some people gasp. You scrambled to your feet and looked at the floor. Fiddling with your fingers, you felt little plants one again grow in the palm of your hands.
