Ellen, Tadzi, Gina and Rosalinda walked back from the WhiteWell in silence.
After a few minutes, Rosalinda said, "Well, at least she's in paradise. The Ultimate Starfield!"
"What am I going to tell their parents?!?!?!" Ellen screamed.
"We'll think of something..." Rosalinda told her.
"No we won't, Rosalinda. Shut up. You don't know anything! I've just lost my best friend and I'll never get her back!" Ellen screamed as she ran back to the elevator.
The awesome foursome squeezed into the now spacious elevator and waited for the doors to close. The trip was surprisingly slower this time. As they returned to the hotel, Ellen grabbed Rosalinda by the arm.
"I'm sorry," Ellen apologised with tears streaming down her face, "I should never have said all of those things to you."
Rosalinda's frown turned to a slight grin as she stated, "It's alright Ellen. You're right, you've just lost your friend. You have a right to be upset. Cleo and Annie were all our friends. But maybe not Jonah, eh?" Ellen laughed and then began sobbing again.
"And I don't know what we're going to tell their parents. We can't exactly go up to them and say 'Hi, we've just gone to a future planet with your child and they died. But don't worry, they're in paradise now as a spirit.'"
Ellen stared at Rosalinda longingly. She'll never take the place of her best friend Cleo, but she's actually turning out to be a good friend.
"You know, Rosalinda. This time last week I didn't even know who you were. You were just the organised, pretty, well-mannered girl who sat on the table next to me. And now, you being a great friend. Thanks. Truly, Rosa, thanks." Ellen sobbed onto Rosalinda's shoulder.
"If you truly want to be my friend, don't call me Rosa. It sounds too prissy. Just call me Rosalinda. My proper name."
Ellen stared at Rosalinda yet again and smirked. This girl may be sensible, but she's sassy too.
They quickly trudged through the hotel and ran down the golden escalator. They made their way through the Forest, staring at their feet all the while. Gina jumped up in glee as soon as the gang escaped from the forest.
"Time to go home." she said.
They got a taxi and spent the next hour in a traffic jam listening to the driver go on and on about how he met King Musco the III. Gina sighed and looked at Tadzi wearily. Prince Musco was Tadzi's great-great-great-grandfather. Soon, they were in the heart of the city again and outside the palace.
"I left my...vehicle in the courtyard. I shall go and prepare it while Gina makes you some drinks." Tadzi told Ellen and Rosalinda. They entered the perfect palace and made their way to the kitchen. Gina went over to the kettle and flicked it on and then flopped down on a chair.
"Even though we are from different planets, we're still the same!" Ellen pointed out.
After they had their exotic Alderwhitian fruit tea, Clarissa the maid came into the kitchen and informed them that Tadzi was ready to take them home. They went out to the courtyard, where they found Tadzi with his peculiar spaceship. He had changed clothes, and was now wearing a purple giraffe onesie with green boots.
"Are you ready, Ellen?" Tadzi asked the girl.
"Yes!" Ellen replied with a smile.
"Let's go home."
The magical machine whirred and whizzed once Tadzi, Gina and the girls were inside. Ellen and Rosalinda sat in their usual spot in the middle of the room. Ellen had only just noticed that the room had changed again. It was now what Tadzi called Porange (Purple and Orange). Ellen picked up a book beside her on a table. It was War and Peace. She quickly put it back down and blinked back the tears. Tadzi pressed some buttons and pulled some levers and his machine started moving again. Ellen felt depressed, so depressed. She couldn't get her head around the fact that three of her friends had died. Well, two friends and a nerd.
"Ellen, everything will be fine. We'll tell their parents and it'll be okay. They'll understand..." Rosalinda piped up.
"Don't worry, your mum's already told them. They know about Jonah, Annie and Cleo. Yes, they're upset, but at least now they know!" Tadzi told Ellen, springing up behind her.
"Anyway," Tadzi said with a smile, "we're home!"
Rosalinda and Ellen jumped to their feet and ran to the Porange doors. Ellen pulled them open so viciously, they could have fallen off. They all ran out and discovered they were a couple of streets away from their house, as Ellen and Rosalinda lived on the same road. They were across the road from a shop. But not just any shop. It. Was. SAINSBURYS!!! Everyone loved Sainsbury's. Ellen saw a reasonably old woman cross the road, but then Ellen saw something quite unusual about the woman, and decided they should investigate.
"Let's follow that woman, quickly!" Ellen said quirkily.
"What are the 'humans' going to say about this!?" Gina said, gesturing to the orange skin on her face.
"We'll tell them it's face paint!" Ellen answered.
Tadzi, Gina, Ellen and Rosalinda crept across the road and entered the much-loved shop. They ran down the aisle in which the old woman was standing, but she looked over her shoulder and noticed a gang of weirdos running after her. The old woman started running and Ellen started to sprint. They all came to a stop when a man with a large gun stepped out in front of them from the side. They tried to run but a man and a woman came up behind him with more guns. And doughnuts.
"You shall not leave. If you try to escape, you will be shot. I have no mercy. Now, come this way, or die!"The two royal aliens, two children and the old woman were shoved into a walk-in freezer at the back of the building.
Rosalinda started banging on the cold door and started screaming, but Tadzi pulled her back and sat her down. The woman stared at the gang one by one, and stopped at Gina.
"What's wrong with her face?!" She asked the others.
"It's face paint!" Ellen told her optimistically.
"Kids these days!" The old woman moaned.
"Excuse me, lady, but I am actually 300 years old, actually! So back off!"
The woman stared at Gina, then turned to Ellen.
"Ok, she's an alien! They both are. Royal aliens! I'm Ellen, the one with the orange face is Gina. That's Tadzi. And this is my friend Rosalinda."
"I'm Betty and I'm human!"
"Are you sure about that?" Ellen inquired.
"Yes, of course I am!" The old lady replied suspiciously.
"Because I'm pretty sure I saw you outside the shop, and you were doing something, well, something that didn't look very human!"
"Oh, I knew Harold was right!" She muttered quietly to herself, before replying with "Fine, yes, you're so clever. You caught me! I'm a wizard! I was making a spell outside." Betty told them.
"Sooo, Betty the Wizard. Welcome to the gang!"
