Jane desperately looked out the window to see any other signs of the mysterious man. She got one last glimpse of him as he was leaving the room. On the top of the white book written in black it said Ander's. Jane assumed it was his name.
"Nathan!!" Jane yelled as she ran out her door. She assumed her cousin would know something about this strange man.
She ran down the hallway and swung open her cousins' door with out knocking. She frantically looked around in the tiny room but no Nathan.
She heard some commotion down stairs and wondered if he was down there.Jane quickly walked down the stairs to find her family gathered at the table all dressed in navy blue sitting with their hands folded.
"Um.. I'm sorry I didn't hear you say dinner was ready... Did you even say it was ready?" Jane asked raising an eyebrow.
Aunt Wendy shook her head and signaled for Jane to sit.
Jane felt very misplaced as she was still in the clothes she wore that day yet everyone else was in navy.
She walked over to her family and stood in front of a chair next to Nathan.
"So was I supposed to wear a certain-" Jane started to say.
"SHHHH." Uncle Lucas said putting a finger up to her mouth.
Jane stopped talking and quickly sat down on the chair in front of her. The table was pushed against a wall, as it was when Jane first moved in. Across from Jane was Aunt Wendy and next to her was Parker. Uncle Lucas stood in front of a chair at the head of the table. Uncle Lucas looked very nice. He was wearing a suit that was all navy and he had shaved his stubble off.
Jane looked around at her family and was about to say something when she heard an odd buzzing sound. Nathan and Parker both immediately stood up.
Then all of a sudden a hologram appeared above the table. A man appeared on the screen. He, like everyone else, was wearing all navy. He was sitting in an all white room in a navy chair. If it weren't for his fiery red hair and white skin, he would completely blend in with the chair.
"Good evening." The man said.
"Good evening sir." Aunt Wendy, Uncle Lucas, Nathan, and Parker all said in sync.
"Please sit." He commanded.
Parker, Nathan, and Uncle Lucas all sat down.
"I see you have a new guest." He said looking down at Jane.
"Yes sir, this is Jane." Nathan said sitting up straight.
"Ah yes. Jane. How do you like the town?" The man asked with a huge smile.
Jane looked around and asked with sass, " So am I allowed to talk now?"
The commanders smile faded and then replied. "Yes, Jane."
"The town is okay I guess. Its weird though.. everybody dresses the same and nobody pays for stuff and everyone is so mysterious. Oh and what is up with getting trackers?" Jane asked very annoyed.
"Trackers are to help you Jane." He said equally as annoyed.
"How are they supposed to help? Honestly I mean, why don't you just tell people not do skip school and give them detention if they do?"
"There are other reasons we have them that we are not allowed to discus... Thank you every one goodnight."
And just like that he was gone. Didn't even wait for Jane to respond.
