"I think we're lost." A deep but kind voice echoed.
"It looks like we are." A lighter voice echoed.
"How did we get here?" Jane echoed with a laugh.
Jane watched as her father drove the little blue car through a dark wooded forest.
"Ooh look a squirrel!" Her father cried out in excitement. "We must be getting close!"
Jane giggled at her father and watched him drive. His light gray hair blowing in the wind from the rolled down window, his dark brown eyes sparkle with excitement.
"Be careful in these woods sweetie." Her mother's voice echoed.
"Oh I will dear." Her Dad said smiling at her mom.
Jane looked out the window as the drove steadily along. She saw rows and rows of trees. The trees were odd to Jane, they looked as if they were placed there . As the trees started getting lesser they saw a huge gray building with a long window going across the top.
Jane stared out the front window and saw bright lights headed their way.
"What's that dear?!" Her mother said pointing ahead to the bright lights.
"I-I'm not sure I-I." Her Father was stammering.
Jane heard her mother's scream and her Father's cry once again.
"No!" She cried as she awoke from her dream and held her face in her hands. "No, no, no."
It was a very sunny day outside, very unlike yesterday. Yet Jane felt so down. She pushed her covers off and got up. Jane looked into her mirror to find her hair in a mess and her eyes red and puffy.
She walked out her bedroom and walked to the bathroom that was across from Nathan's room. She looked around for a shower but only found a wooden bucket and jugs of water sitting next to it. Jane examined the water and decided to pour some in to the large bucket. She slowly put her finger in and felt the water. It was freezing! She decided that it was best to ask if there was a shower rather then attempting the bucket.
Jane walked back into her bed room and saw a Navy sweater, a gray shirt, and a gray skirt sitting on her bed all laid out nicely. She picked up the clothes and went down stairs.
"Um Aunt Wendy?" Jane said reaching the bottom of the stairs.
"Why, yes dear?" Aunt Wendy said with a great big smile.
" Who's are these?" Jane asked tilting her head and holding the clothing up.
"They're yours dear! Straight from I.C.E." She said with a grin.
"Oh, Okay.." Jane said raising an eyebrow.
Jane turned on her heel and went back up stairs. She put the plain gray t-shirt on and pulled the sweater and skirt on. She turned and looked at her self in her mirror.
"Wow.." Jane said tugging on the sweater. "This is horrible..."
"Jane!!" Nathan called from down stairs.
"Yes?" Jane yelled.
"Get down here!" Nathan yelled.
Jane grabbed a pair of white ankle socks and quickly ran down the hallway.
"Coming!" She yelled as she stopped to put her socks on quickly.
"Yes?" She said short of breath as she reached the kitchen where Nathan was.
