The night sky gleamed with dreamy stars, filling the blackness - it floated above the city below, shining with lights all throughout.
The train sped amongst the trees, like a million fireflies flying through a forest of dark. Aiko stared out the window, watching the branches pass her. She glanced to her side - Koru mumbled softly as he slept on her lap. She smiled, rubbing a palm on his shoulder as he curled slightly closer to her. His warm hand tightly gripped to her own - Koru was her only source of warmth. A soft beep signalled an announcement from the rustic, almost monotonous voice of the conductor:

"Attention all passengers, the next stop is Fujino."

Aiko recognised the name right away - her hometown. But when she looked down at him to wake him up, his cute face was upturned toward her; his hair was slightly messy, but silky when she ruffled it; he breathed slowly, not a loud snore but one that felt peaceful; and his smile - so adorable, she thought - looked so happy, perhaps Koru was having a pleasant dream. Aiko couldn't bring herself to disturb him, to leave him like this - what if someone steals from him or takes advantage of him while he's sleeping? I'm just being considerate right? Yet deep in Aiko's heart, she was thinking differently: she wanted to be with him. No matter how she tried to hide it, it was true.

"A...Aiko-chan..." Koru whispered.

Aiko's eyes widened slightly, and felt the blood rush, flushing her cheeks a bright red. Her heart began to race, and before she knew it, the train doors closed - the town of Fujino leaving behind them. Dammit Koru, she thought, smiling to herself. He began to mumble to himself again - so cute. Aiko looked back out again through the window to the fleeting city lights passing by - the city was now coloured with happiness...

...like her own lights.
