The forest was eerily quiet - too quiet in fact, for Jiiro's liking. He hung up high from a tree branch, watching the hunter camp with silent eyes, following each one in turn. He smirked briefly, then lifted himself up. Crawling down the branch, he jumped from tree to tree until he was right above them, assassin-like. It was a small camp - a few gathered around a campfire, the others inside their makeshift tent, resting up for the next battle. This'll be their last, he thought.
Leaping from his perch, Jiiro drove the knife into the standing hunter's skull, killing him instantly. The other hunters turned in confusion, but too late - one by one, Jiiro weaved through them like a needle and it's thread piercing the wool; the fire continued to crackle with life, as the last was taken away. He breathed in slowly, covered in foreign blood. Another few Hunters I won't have to care about at least.
Jiiro held up his palm in front him, closing his eyes briefly. "Hikari!" he said, summoning a bright - yet humble - light in front of him. He continued to walk through the forest, looking for the streaks of orange and yellow - a sign of the enemy. A breeze flowed in through his jet black hair and his loose outfit, rustling the tall grass around him - immediately he ducked, feeling another's presence. He crouched, waiting for slight movement when a pair of hands grabbed him from behind.
"Gotcha!" the elf girl said, wrestling him to the ground. They struggled for a bit, but Jiiro finally got back up, crouching there with her.
"What are you doing here Rinlei? The Orc camps are in the opposite direction," he said, raising his eyebrows.
"Well duh," she smiled,"I finished them all already - not even a match for my close combat y'know?"
"Well alright then, master," he replied sarcastically. Rinlei punched him on the arm. "Ow, what was that for?"
"You're an idiot," she said, leaning into him. It was quick, their lips glued together for only a moment. Rinlei sighed. "Go on then. The hunters will wake up soon," she said, nodding towards the faint, orange but unmistakeable light of another enemy camp.
Jiiro grinned back at her. "In a bit, yeah?" He took off, dashing towards them. It had only a been a second or two and he already missed her company - it's what happens when you date an elf princess.
