Scott told me that lunch was going to be a surprise. I was honestly content with any kind of food.

He held my hand limply as he took me to his home out here in the forest. I was so excited to see what Scott had done to make his home. It would help me hone my wilderness survival skills.

After a few minutes of walking, we finally arrived at Scott's forest home. It was a small cozy hut that was mostly made of wood. It was basically a wooden tepee that was surrounded by some large boulders. There was a hole in the top of the tepee for smoke to rise out of.

"What do you do if it rains?" I felt stupid as soon as I asked that question. I already knew the answer.

"The rain is usually blocked by the treetops, but I still cover the top with an absorbent blanket just in case." There was no jab whatsoever in Scott's tone.

I immediately felt better. "Oh, I was just wondering. Do I have to make my own home?" My question was dripping with sarcasm.

Scott's sarcastic tone made me relax. "Of course Gwen honey, I can't have you living with me even though you asked me to."

I smirked. "Just an hour ago, you were the one hanging all over me." Under my breath, I added something. "Not like I mind or anything."

Scott breathed out, exasperated. "You know you liked it. Don't go throwing that in my face now."

I looked down at the ground. I felt defeated. "I'm sorry." My voice was barely a whisper.

Scott inched closer to me, so that there was a good inch between us. There was a impish smile on his face. "Aw, come on honey. You're pretty cute you know." He wrapped his long, strong arms around my waist and leaned in closer to my face, reducing the space between us to a couple centimeters.

A blush crept on my face and spread quickly. "Don't mess with me unless you mean it, you bastard."

Scott looked crestfallen. "Gwen, you don't think I mean it? I was actually being serious this time!"

I immediately felt harsh. "You actually meant it? It's hard to tell when you're always changing your mood. Part of me loves you, and the other part of me wants to wrap my arms around your neck and strangle you." I covered my mouth quickly. I hadn't meant to admit that I was falling in love with him.

Scott grinned seductively. "Is that so?" He pulled my face right in front of his. We were close enough that our noses were touching. Scott also took the liberty to pull my body against his. He held me there, waiting to see if what I said was true.

I didn't pull away from him. Although, I wasn't fully in love with him, yet I was getting there. "I think you owe me an answer."

"You didn't ask me a question."

"I think you know what it is Scott."

Scott stared into my violet eyes for what seemed like an eternity. Then, he did something I never thought anyone would ever do.

Scott pressed his lips onto mine; I was imersed in a warm feeling from within. I was about to pass out before realizing that I was holding my breath the entire time.

Scott pulled away and opened his eyes. His whispered alluringly in my ear. "I love you Gwen."
