As Natalie stood on the roof of the Opera House, looking out at the city lights going out, she holds a red rose that the Phantom had given him. Hans comes up onto the roof surprising Natalie. "Hey Natalie. What's wrong?" Hans asked her. Natalie heard him and looked away from the lights, walking along the edge of the roof. "Have you heard of that Phantom guy? He sure is a jerk!" Hans said. "No, Hans. It isn't his fault. The managers are ignoring his demands. He wants the Opera House under his control." Natalie said, taking the Phantom's side. "What?! No! You must be kidding! He's trying to kill us all! He's a monster!" Hans yelled.
"What if he isn't? Maybe, he just wants the best for all us. That doesn't truly make him a monster." Natalie said. "That doesn't make any sense! He'll just gain our trust and destroy us all! We need to get rid of punk immediately!" Hans yelled. "Hans, you don't understand why. Even though he seems like a monster, he has a soft side. But, his temper is scary." Natalie said. She looked at the rose. "Where'd you get that?" Hans asked. "Someone gave it to me." She said, acting suspicious. Hans just eyed her like she was hiding a sercet. "I once was spoken to an angel. He stood tall and fair. He's full of mystery and his eyes take me away from the day and into the night. He wears a mask full of fear, but, can I ever forget that voice? That begs my soul to stay with him. Who is he? Why is he sad and angry?" Natalie sang. "Why are you suddenly, singing? It's just a voice in your head. It doesn't mean that anything is gonna happen." Hans said. Natalie stopped as soon, as Hans finished his sentence. She turned around as Hans walked toward her. "Hans, I can feel him. He's all around. He's watching." She said, her eyes becoming afraid. "Don't be afraid. I'll always be here to help." Hans said. Natalie then, looked up at him and she slowly was drawn to his lips. Hans let her kiss him as he wanted to help his old friend. But, now they were in love. As the duo kissed, the red rose slipped out of Natalie's hand as she soon had no memory of the Phantom but, let Hans pop into her head. After that, they headed back into the Opera House and closed the door.
But, a black figure saw the whole scene. He came out of the shadows and walked toward the rose; kneeling down to pick it up. "Angel, why should we? I don't understand love. But, you betrayed me. After I shared with you my music." He sang, faintly. "The monster was tamed, but, for a short time. Why have you done this to me?" He sang. He clutched the rose tight to his face as tears came running down his cheeks. He was heartbroken from it. He then, remembered Hans. He stopped crying and now understood why she had left him. "He must be destroyed." He hissed, and slowly crumbled the rose into bits. He became filled with rage and stood up. He ran toward a statue and jumped on it. "You will curse the day you did so!" He sang, in a grand tone and jumped down. He soon vanished into the night as it soon was swallowed up by daylight.
The next few weeks went by fast and Natalie soon had forgotten about the Angel.
Then, there was a knock on her bedroom door. "Miss Winters? Are you in there? I need to tell you something." A voice said. Natalie got up and walked to the door as she reached for the doorknob.
