The very next day, the Opera House managers were wandering the halls as the dorm rooms were full of slience. "Thomas, this man sent me a letter last night! And he thinks he can control us!" The co-manager complained, pulling out a letter from his coat pocket. The manager took the letter from the lousy man with puffy white hair. Dear Managers, after your first day at the Opera House, I have to say, you've made a smart idea to listen to me. You all must respect my wishes. But, if you deny, I will rain down on your parade and destory your dreams here at the Opera House. And may I ask you all one thing? Next week's opera shall have Miss Winters playing the lead role. Remember, respect my wishes and I'll respect yours. Or my darkness will burn this Opera House to the ground if you get in my way. I'm watching.
-The phantom.
The co-manager rolled his eyes at the warning. "See? He's trying to control us! We need Catalina! The crowd loves her!" The co-manager said. The manager rasied a hand to slience his fellow worker. "Now, now. Let's just be friends with him. If the crowd ever gets sick of her singing, then, we will change the roles. Till then, he's in charge." He said. "Fine." The co-manager said, groaning.
Then, the manager's son, Hans came walking up the steps. "That sure was a rich feast father. It's a shame Natalie had to miss it." Hans said. "Natalie?" The co-manager asked. "Yeah, Miss Winters. Ah, she sure has changed over the years." Hans said. "You've been friends with the girl before?" The co-manager asked. "Childhood friends." Hans said. "Hmm. Thanks for telling us that son." His father said. Hans had hair let loose all the way down to his shoulders. "Well, let's head to breakfast." Hans said. "Yeah. I'm starving." The co-manager said. The three men headed to the dining room to eat some delicious recipes.
But, deep within the bowels of the Opera House, Natalie soon woke up from her rest. Wind blew lightly into the bedroom and Natalie soon saw the light again. She turned and saw that a candle was lit. She got up from the bed and walked toward the entrance.
When, she removed the curtain and saw the glorious lake that sparkled in the candlelight. She stepped down the steps and looked around. She then, remembered what had happened last night. She then, saw the man again by a piano. He was trying to focus on something. Natalie then, decided to surprise him by her singing. "When, a dream comes true, there is always someone hiding to bask in the extra glory. But, who is this man? This master of music and darkness? Who is the face that people fear?" Natalie sang. The man suddenly, heard the angelic voice interrupt his thoughts. He was suprised by his angel surprising him with her voice. Natalie stood there, looking at the man that seemed to be a angel. The man turned around to face his papers that were blank. Natalie walked down the steps and toward the masked man. "Who is this angel that is hiding from the light? What kind of angel is he? Who is this man of glory?" Natalie sang. The man stopped thinking and let her give him thoughts. He had closed his eyes to think. She stepped toward the man and her voice suddenly, disappeared. The man hadn't noticed and her hands touched the mask. Then, it slowly slid off without the man noticing. When, the man felt his left side of his face become exposed, he went on a rampage. "Curse you!" He yelled. He pushed her and Natalie fell onto the cold stone floor. She became scared of his temper. And it was ugly. He toppled candles into the water. He pulled a sheet down from a mirror and looked at himself. His scar was hideous and it mostly was all rashy. He sighed and turned around with him covering his scar. "You've seen my scar. But, that makes everyone wonder. How did I get these scars? I am a demon and everyone fears a demon. But, what am I truly? A monster in disguise? Ever since my day, I've been wanting to have some happiness, but, the light has decided to let me hide from the world. And my curse has been laid onto my face, making others flee from me. But, when will this angel soon become a demon?" He sang. Natalie watched as he sang about his fate as a feared man. "Anger is inside me. Burning inside this lair of darkness. But, why would I even know I would earn love from an outsider? They don't care about where I live or what goes on inside these walls of torture. But, as everyone asks me this same question, why do you torture the ones you love by watching their loved ones die? I just feel this rage inside just making me unhappy." He sang, his voice full of sadness. Natalie saw him look at her. "People just don't understand what a demon raging inside your soul, feels like. But, when, someone soon understands the pain, a life soon ends even before I know what has happened. Please understand that I never meant to understand love. Only trust from a true friend." The man sang. Natalie watched as he walked toward her. "This demon seems to be a beast, but, as his hearts slowly beats, it grows weary for love and trust. But, how will that be filled with my mask of serects? This fear and anger is just too much to hold in, but, I try and fight these demons lurking inside me, knowing that I'll snap sometime soon." The man sang. He kneeled down beside Natalie. She looked at the mask that she held in her hands. She slowly handed him the mask and he took it. He turned around and slid the cold mask onto his scar.
He took a deep breath and relaxed himself. He then, turned around and helped her up. The man turned to a table and picked up a red rose. He handed it to her. Then, they introduced each other. "Promise me, you won't tell anyone about me." Jack said. Natalie nodded. "Now, we must go. Fools like them wander around my house. And they could do something stupid." Jack said. Natalie nodded and they headed to Natalie's dorm room. Meanwhile, Rose, Madame Rose's daughter passed by her friend's bedroom. She heard the slience inside wondering if her friend was sleeping late again. She reached for the doorknob, but, suddenly, her mother grabbed her wrist. Rose spun around to face her own mother. "Mom! What's wrong?" Rose said. "You shouldn't be here. Now, come. Breakfast is starting soon and we don't wanna be late." She said. Her daughter nodded. Then, mother and daughter headed on down to the Opera's breakfast table. There, they ate for hours.
But, I sensed something in the walls nearby. And he is creating the darkness. But, when, will he learn to strike? I guess we'll find out very soon. Very, very soon.To be continued...
