Trinitee Allen

Walking out of the funeral Odell and his cousins held onto Nolens casket getting ready to put him in the all black hearse. I held onto Essence tightly as she softly whined watching them close the door and Krystel began to act a fool.

I began to look over the men attire and I noticed it was so cute how they went all out. They were wearing a white shirt with Nolen face air brushed on the back with white jeans and all white G nikes.

They had a full body cut out certain places in the church and his casket was decorated perfectly. I held back my tears because he wouldn't want us to cry.

Overall the funereal was nice, yet sad because of Nolens daughter asking why he wasn't waking up and for Krystel being petty and acting immature. She decided that she was gonna sit herself far away from us and roll her eyes at us every chance she get. I understand it was her boyfriend that passed but Nolen was like family to me too.

Especially if she was blaming Odell for his death I don't think Odell would set his cousin up. It was more until this situation and she didn't even blame Herb which makes me think.

But I hope this was a wake up call for Odell.

I smoothed down my all black dress walking to my car with Mel. Herb and Odell was gonna follow the hearse to the grave and we were gonna follow behind them.

After they made it to the grave yard they buried him in a wall because they didn't want to throw dirt in anyone's face when they died.

"I feel so bad." Mel said resting her head on the window.

"So do I but at least he's in a better place. He's in paradise now and doesn't have to worry about this sick world anymore. It just wasn't his time to go." I shook my head driving too Odells mother house.

She wanted certain people to come over because she was cooking a dinner. I suggested that I go home but Odell made me come because he wanted Essence.

I would've gave him her but he's not gonna drive with her while he's in that state.

"That was my first time seeing Odell and Herb cry and knowing that they don't cry often made me cry. Trin you need to stay with him because I'll hate if something happened to him also." She stated simply looking out the window.

"I'll stay with him only if he let me. I'll doubt he'll do that."

"Girl please Odell would break his neck saying yes when you ask him." I laughed shaking my head.

"Don't do him that."

"It's true. He loves you." Mel shrugged her shoulders.

"Yeah." I mumbled looking at the ground.

A few minutes later I found myself parking my car across the street from his mamas house. Nobody lived there so it was okay. I unstrapped Essence from the car seat and walked inside.

"Somebody's hungry." I cooed looking down at her chewing her fingers.

"Hey my love." Odells nana greeted making me smile and hug her, "Look at my grand baby."

"Hey Nana. Did Odell make it here yet?" She nodded her head because I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings.

"He's upstairs changing. Who's this beautiful girl behind you?" She asked looking at Mel who stood quietly.
