5 years later"Jaycee stop running around the house before you break something." I yelled at my 3 year old son as he giggled and ran.
I heard something crash and my eyes darted from the television to the kitchen. He ran in the living room with his hands over his mouth shocked.
"Jaycee imma whoop you." I said bring bringing a piece of strand hair behind my ear.
"I no be bad mama." He shook his head before climbing in my lap.
"Who did it then?" I asked raising my eyebrows trying to see if he's going to lie.
"Da did." I chuckled before tickling him.
"Don't lie on him because he's not even here. Imma tell him too." I said once I stopped tickling him as he caught his breath.
"Ma nooo." He said whining.
"Then don't lie on your daddy. Lying is bad okay?" He nodded his head.
"I sowwy mama." He replied before placing a wet kiss to my lips after saying 'muah'.
I loved this little boy too death. He reminded me so much of his father it was crazy.
He acted just like Devin and looked like him. He had his skin complexion, attitude, nose and all he took from me was my eyes. I should've just named him Devin Junior for the hell of it.
"Then let's go clean up that mess before your daddy gets here." I stood up putting him on his feet and grabbed his hand.
His eyes immediately flashed to the engagement ring on my finger as he started playing with it. He always does that when it catches his attention.
I got a broom from the closet and swept up the glass while he carefully held the dust pan. I didn't want him to be around the glass just incase it got in his fingers but he insisted that he made the mess so he gets to help.
Just to make him happy I got him to throw it away.
"Ma where's da?" He asked tapping the back of my leg.
"He should be coming in right now." I responded looking down at my watch.
As on cue the alarm for the house went off if you open and close doors. Essence came in smiling with two McDonald's bag with Devin not to close behind.
I chuckled and kissed her forehead.
"How was dance school boo?" I asked playing with her curls as she sat on the bar stool.
