I don't care how many red lights I ran. If I caused somebody to get into a wreck or if I got speeding tickets I was rushing to get to Krystels house. I knew she did it and this bitch was about to pay. I swerved around the corner ignoring Essence piercing screams.

Without thinking I jumped out of the car and stormed up the driveway.

Luckily the door was open but I looked around and saw the house was empty. I mean empty as if a penny wasn't even there.

My chest heaved up and down as I could think as where she could've went. I mentally cursed to myself and scream aloud as Essence cries got louder.

I got into the backseat and took her out placing her in my arms. I knew I scared her by my actions.

"Mama is so sorry princess." I stated rocking her while dialing Herbs number on my phone. "Hello?"

"I heard what happened. Where are you?" Herb asked as I heard shuffling in the background.

"I'm in front of Krystels house because I know she did it! Where the fuck is she?" I stated bouncing my leg up and down.

"Mel said that she boarded the plane earlier for Cosmetology school or some shit like she had this all planned." I shook my head before looking down at Essence who was staring at me.

"Oh my god." I sighed out closing my eyes and rested my head on the seat.

"Wanna know some fucked up shit?" I stayed quiet letting him know he could keep talking.

"Nolens death was a set up. After Odells club caught on fire Krystel didn't have a job and wasn't making any money. She knew she couldn't get a job because of her background that's why she got with Nolen. She's been taking money from Nolen for this little school she has to pay for and sent some niggas out to kill him after she got it all."

I gasped as tears rolled down my cheeks again. Things were finally piecing together and I would've never thought Krystel was like that.

She started to act different as soon as Mel came around but I don't think it was because of her, she was showing her true colors.

"Nolen I swear I didn't know anything about t-"

"I know you didn't because one of my homeboys told me about the niggas who pulled up." I wiped my face before putting Essence in her seat with her nook, "But don't worry, karmas coming back to them. Trust me."

"So what about this situation with Odell?" I asked getting into the driver seat.

"Your dads a lawyer right? Get him in that court with Odell and we'll see what happens from there." He said making me nod my head.

"I already talked to him and he says he on it. I just hope he's okay."

"Odells a fighter. He ain't gonn let nobody touch him, he gonn be aight." I smiled thinking about how crazy he is.

"You're right."

"I'll call you back if I hear bout something alright?" I nodded as if he can see me.

"Thank you bro. Be safe." I said before hanging up.

Without Nolen I knew there is always Herb who has my back besides Odell.

"Trin baby would you like a piece of cheesecake? I made some for the house." Vanessa said standing in the middle of the door.

"I'm fine but thank you. I'm surprised you're making something sweet." I joked talking about her job.

"Hey just because I'm a dentist doesn't mean I don't love sweets. I eat them every now and then." She shrugged sitting down on the couch next to me.
