Chapter 22- The Familiar Face

>>Mia's P.O.V.<<

I watch the two retreating figures go the way they left a few minutes before. I scrunched my eyebrows together about to follow the two idiot twin cousins, when I feel someone tap my shoulder. I turn and see a smiling Jake. how do I know it's Jake? well with that smirk and his startling blue eyes i could recognize his eyes a mile away (well not literally but you get the idea).

"may I have this dance my lady" he said bowing. I try to stifle a laugh but fail and start laughing at how ridiculous he looked. "Mia Sanchez are you laughing at me?" he asked looking up at me from his bowing position. I nod covering my mouth, he stands up straight with fake hurt on his face and his hand over his heart. "awww did I break your little feelings?" my voice full of fake concern. "you're a bitch" he chuckled. I gasped "me? I'm like the nicest person you will ever meet my friend" "yeah whatever so wanna dance or what?" he chuckled. "hmm... sure why not." I shrug.

We dance a few songs when the music suddenly stopped. We all let out a few complaints and groans. "okay everyone please settle down settle down. it's time to guess who our new member of the town is but first can the rest of the family make their way to the stage," beamed Ryder's mom as he and his dad make their way to the stage. huh when did they get back? I think.I then feel someone wrap their arms around my waist. look up and see alec smiling down at me. I was about to ask him about the whole thing that happen a couple minutes ago but before I could I hear my name bring called.

"Since no one got the answer right I'd like to present to you MIA!" she clapped as the spotlight landed on me.my eyes go wide and I give a sheepish smile, hating all the unwanted attention. "well Mia how about you come up here and present yourself formally to the rest of the us."Ryder's mom smiles brightly at me. I go up confidently and wall up the stairs when I get to the top of the stage some guys whistle I then start talking into the microphone. "well like Mrs.Luz said I'm Mia and I'm going to be a junior this year and uhm well yeah..." I give a smile. "and Mia where are you going and who are you taking besides Ryder" she asked. "well I'm going to take belle, alec, Jake, liam and neddy" I say and when I call each name they let out a cheer. I laugh at there reaction. "and where do you plan on going" she asked again. "it's a surprise" I smirk looking around the room at each person, but then I land on a certain face.a face I never thought I'd see again, a face I'm deathly afraid of.

just looking the face started bringing the dark memories back.

I need to get out of here before I black out again.

I grab Ryder's arm a little too tight "ow Mia what the hell" he says leaning down towards me "ry I need you to get me out of here now!" I growl through clenched feeling myself slowly being dragged to the past. "why?" he said "please Ryder just get me out of here!" I plead. he thought about for a second and nodded to himself as he came to a silent decision. "okay only under one condition" I nodded "yes Ryder whatever just please get me out of here." "okay you have to forgive me and stop being mad at me" he said I nod again "yes Ryder please just get me out of here now!" I beg. he nods and turns to the crowd.

>Ryder's P.O.V.<

I can tell Mia really wants to leave by the way her eyes are pleading me and I knew I had to get her out of here quick.

"well I have to show Mia something so if you'll all excuse us" i say pulling Mia out who is going pale. "ry take me somewhere privite please! right now" she said out of breathe

I quickly lead her to the elevator. we both walk into the elevator she suddenly collapse to the ground. "holy shit Mia are you okay? Mia?" I say shaking her. "MIA!" I yell again all of the sudden she starts to yell and gets up to a sitting position punishing herself to the other side of the elevator. "NO, NO, NO, NO!!! GET AWAY STOP PLEASE! P-P-PLEASE STOP HURTING ME PLEASE!" Mia yells letting a high pitched scream. "Mia please calm.down" I say a little panicked not knowing what to do. I grab her face in my hands and make her look at me. "Mia look at me you're okay no one is going to hurt you." I say looking into her eyes, but they were glassy and looked far away. "Mia please look at me." I then remembered last time she looked like this and the way she calmed down was when I sang the a-team by ed sheeren. I started to sing and Mia still wouldn't calm down. "and they say she's in the class a-team stuck in her day dream been this way since eighteen but lately her face seems slowly sinking wasting crumbling like pastries-" I stop singing when i see mia's body relax.

Mia then looks up at me with tears in her eyes she looks broken and scared and before i know what i'm doing i grab her and pull her in my arms and hug her. we sat like that for awhile with her crying in my arms and me petting the back of her head trying to comfort her. she small body just shakes as she cries. "shhh mia it's okay you're okay now it's okay i'll protect you i won't let anything happen to you." i say tilting her head to look at me. he eyes still filled with tears. "mia can you tell me what the hell happened" i asked. we've been in this elevator for awhile now but the doors are closed and we're on the secound floor. mia them sighed and said "i saw a face i never thought i'd see again. i saw a familiar face." and with that she strte to cry again into my chest and i just sit there holding her because at this point that's the only thing i can do right now.

)Adam's P.O.V.(

She saw me, and i saw the fear in her eyes when she realized who i was but she didn't acknolwdge me all she did was whisper to that ryder idiot and they left. she is going to regret leaving me. i am going to get her back because she loves me and i love her she's just to stupid to see it. well not until i knock some sense into her. literly.

Hey guess who updated!!!!! Yeap me sooo yea i hope you like it even though it's a little short sooo sorry about that but hey give me some credit it's 12 here and i woke up super early this morning so i'm dead tried so imma go to sleep now byeee sweet dreams my kittens or good morning or afternoon whatever time zone you're in right now! lol so anyway i have a question for you guys

'What time is it where you are?' im just wondering you don't have to tell me where you are just the time because i'm curious ^-^ so anyway that's all stay tuned for more next week later!<3
