Chapter 11: Comatose

Carter POV
I panted and I then rushed at Zoom and he punched me in the face, sending me flying towards a tree. I hit the tree and groaned in pain. Zoom picked me up by my shirt and ran towards the city to the top of a building and held me over the edge.

    "Falling is just like flying, but with a more permanent destination." Zoom said before letting go of me and letting me fall towards the ground.

    I then hit my head on a pipe and everything went black.

Rebecca POV
I was walking through an alleyway and I heard a loud noise above me and I looked up to see someone falling. I caught them and looked down at their face to see it was Carter. His head was bleeding badly and I started to rush to the hospital. After an hour or so, I called Kylie and Cam.

    "What happened?" Cam asked.

    "I don't know, he just fell from the sky." I said.

    A doctor came from behind us. "Are you all friends of Carter's?" the doctor asked.

    "Cam and I are. Kylie's his girlfriend." I said.

    "Well, I regret to inform you three that... he's fallen into a coma." the doctor said.

    "What?! How?!" Kylie exclaimed with tears welling up in her eyes.

    "He seemed to have damaged his brain during his fall." the doctor said.

    "Is there any way we can help?" Cameron asked.

    "There's not much. Just... hope for the best." the doctor said.

    "Can we see him?" I asked. "Of course, follow me." the doctor said.

    We followed her and entered the room to see Carter with his eyes closed and his body unmoving besides his chest going up and down as he breathed. His head was bandaged on the right side where he had hit his head. Tears streamed down Kylie's face as she walked towards him and hugged his body.

    "I'll leave." the doctor said.

    She walked out of the room and Cam and I held each other's hands as we sat down. Kylie wiped away her tears and kissed his lips for a moment then backed away. She sat in the chair to the left of me and I could hear her sniffles.

    "You okay?" Cam asked her.

    "No. My boyfriend's in a coma. He was the only one I ever thought about having a relationship with. If he doesn't wake up... I don't know what I'll do." Kylie said.

    "He's gonna wake up. Don't say he won't." I said.

    "Yeah, we gotta stay positive." Kylie said.

<><><><><>3 Days Later<><><><><>

Cameron POV
"I thought he would've woken up by now." Kylie said.

    "We just gotta have faith that he'll wake up soon." I said.

    "I'd like sooner as well, since we got news about our parents a couple days ago, everyone's basically gone into hiding. Now it's just a kryptonian, a billionaire's daughter, the daughter of a space cop, and Mr. Comatose over there." Rebecca said pointing at Cam, then to herself, then Kylie, and then finally Carter.

    Kylie then walked over to Carter's bed and kissed his forehead. We all walked out of the room and back home.
