As I looked at the school with all the decorations up, I wondered how the school's Halloween dance was going to be like. I walked up the stairs of the school to see Kylie waiting for me.
"So, ready for our date tonight?" she asked me.
"Ready as I'll ever be." I said.
Oh yeah, our date was tonight. Did I mention it was the day before Halloween? Anyways, I accidently bumped into Brett in the hallway while I was walking to homeroom with Kylie.
"What do you think you're doing?" Brett exclaimed.
"Sorry, I didn't see you." I said, apologizing to him.
"Yeah you better apologize!" Brett snarled.
"Back off Brett. I apologized. It's done." I said back.
"Don't sass me Allen!" Brett yelled back.
My last name is Allen so, yeah. I walked away with Kylie as Brett yelled at me as he followed me. I turned around as my anger took over halfway to homeroom and punched him in the nose. He fell back and hit the ground. He held his nose in pain.
"Don't EVER do that again." I said sternly.
"Ok." he said laying on the floor dazed. I turned around and walked along to homeroom with Kylie.
"Wow, I didn't know that you two had such a history." Kylie said as we got to homeroom.
"Yeah, it's a long story." I said as I walked through the doorway of the classroom.
I looked around the class to see no one there. Just as I heard something creak above me and Kylie's heads, I grabbed her arm and ran to the teacher's desk at 30 mph. A bucket tipped over and poured green slime onto the ground.
"Aw man." Damian said disappointed as he rose from behind a desk as the whole class rose after.
"Did you really think that was going to work?" I asked him.
"Yes." he said.
"Well it didn't." Kylie said.
The next few minutes was Damian trying to prank me while the rest of the class helped him. One of them was putting green slime on my desk trying to make me think it was ectoplasm from a ghost. Another was moving a pencil with a string trying to make me think a ghost was moving it. Almost all of the pranks were ghost themed.
As the bell for lunch rang, I grabbed Kylie's sleeve and ran out of the classroom to get to the cafeteria first. As we got there, I stopped abruptly making one of the lunch lady's jump. We got our lunch and sat down. As we were just starting to eat, the rest of the 8th grade students came in with louds thuds everywhere.
As Damian sat down, I slapped his shoulder.
"Dude! What was that for?" he exclaimed.
"For trying to prank me." I said.
We ate, talked, and laughed all the way through lunch. My next class was gym but they were setting up for the dance in there so we had study hall instead. I was looking at my phone when Kylie and Damian came up to me and asked me to follow them.
"Where are we going?" I asked them.
"We're going to the gym." Damian said.
"To help with the decorations." Kylie said after.
As we got there, they were already done with the decorations.
"Well, that was anti-climactic." I said.
After that we just sat against the wall, talking. As the bell rang to go home, I said goodbye to Kylie and Damian, telling them I would see them at the dance and I also told Kylie not to forget about our date.
I looked around for my red tie right as I got to my room. I scrounged around my room and as I finally found it, it was almost time to go to the dance. I grabbed my jacket and shoes and ran out the door. As I got there, I was greeted by a really scary zombie. "Holy crap!" I yelled as I stumbled back a few steps. As I realized what it was, I felt like such a fool. It was a life-size cardboard cutout of a zombie from The Walking Dead. I got back up and looked behind it. It was Damian and the rest of my class.
"Ha! We got you!" Damian exclaimed.
"Yeah you did. I got to admit it was pretty freaky." I said trying to slow down my heartbeat.
"Only freaky? I thought you were going to say horrifying or terrifying." Damian said sounding disappointed.
"Let's just go enjoy the dance." I said walking backwards.
I turned around and saw Kylie standing in front of a wall. As she saw me, she ran over and grabbed my arm. After that, she pulled me to the dancefloor. But the night wasn't over...
