Julia took a deep breath before entering her mother's classroom. She still hadn't spoken with her since the now infamous party incident. In fact, none of the teachers had mentioned anything about her being there, which made the situation easier.

The room was practically empty. Emory stood at her desk, straightening her books. She appeared not to have noticed her daughter. Hopefully she could avoid a lecture, especially sine they were not alone.

Keeping her head down, Julia walked to her desk and took out her notebook for the class. She opened her notebook to the weekend homework - marked by a neon Post-it note - and sat down, waiting for the bell.

More and more people slowly stumbled into the classroom as time passed. Julia felt awaked, just sitting there. Usually she was more peppy, making jokes with her mother towards the front of the room. Today she sat near the back, not sure what sort of mood Emory was in.

Allie bounced in and took the seat next to Julia. "Hey!" she said cheerfully. Her pastel pink hair was now a bright blue. "Where'd you go yesterday?"

"My mom had a party that I was supposed to go to, and I totally forgot about it," Julia admitted. She looked up at the front of the room to see if Emory had heard her.

Allie nodded. "Cool. I'm guessing you two aren't speaking then..."

Julia scoffed. "Yeah. That's an understatement."

She giggled. "Okay. Well, you didn't miss much after you left. The heist is Friday, but Tyler still hasn't picked a challenge yet. We'll probably have a few extra meetings this week to get everything finalized."

The bell rang, signaling the start of class. Everyone in the room quieted down.

"Alright, hello everyone," Emory began. "I hope you all had a good weekend." Her eyes lingered on Julia for a while, then she looked away.

"I'll save you a seat at lunch so I can keep filling you in," Allie whispered.

"Tyler was pissed that you ran off," Eva said after swallowing a mouthful of food. "Like, really pissed."

Julia rolled her eyes. "You of all people should know I've had enough of his drama."

Allie and Kristen exchanged glances. "Spill." They leaned on the table to listen in closer.

"She dated him in freshman year," Eva whispered excitedly.

The two girls gasped.

"Shut up!"

"No way!"

Julia laughed softly. "We dated the summer before freshman year, Eva. He left and came here but I stayed behind for a year."

"Still, that's some pretty great scoop," Kristen gushed. "He's so moody all the time! How did you get him to date you?!"

Ignoring the slight snub, Julia sighed. "He wasn't always moody. At least, not with me, I don't think."

Allie sighed romantically and giggled. "I just can't believe you dated Tyler Wayland!"

Julia couldn't help but laugh. "Is it really that big of a deal?" she asked. She somewhat knew the answer, though - everyone back at her old school congratulated her when they first admitted to being together. Still, she had known Tyler for a long time; to her it didn't seem like a big accomplishment.

"He's one of the cutest guys in school. I actually took a poll in the middle of freshman year," Eva muttered.

"I thought you were having trouble with your sexuality," Julia joked.

Allie and Kristen whooped jovially as Eva slapped them. "I'm straight!" she yelled, a little louder than needed. Several people in the cafeteria looked up in confusion.

"Guys, really, don't go spreading this around," Julia whispered. "It took me a long time to forget about all of this, and I'm sure the last thing Tyler needs is my trying to gain status."

Kristen gasped. "She still likes him."

"No, no!" Julia shushed the girls, who now were practically swarming her. "I just don't want any unnecessary drama."

Once everything had calmed down, she changed the subject. "Now, why don't we talk about whatever I missed at the meeting?"

Author's Note:

Horrible ending. I know. It would have been better but I got an idea in the middle of writing this, so I had to stop on a cliffhanger.

I feel like this whole storyline so far would be great for some kind of Degrassi spinoff. I never actually watched the show, but I knew it had a LOT of drama. And there's only more to come...

This amazing cover was made by @MyChocolateNotUrs !! It's the first cover anybody's ever made for me, and it's amazing!! Thank you!!
