18 - First Night

Chapter 18- First Night

Sophie's Pov 

Well, I told him, at first he didn't want me to go but I told him more people could come with us and he eventually agreed.

He said they should be here soon. 

When I went back to the living room, I sat on the couch and closed my eyes. Soon after, someone sat on the left and right of me.

It startled me and when I looked, it was Trent and Will. "I'm sorry, did we scare you?"

"What do you want?"

"Didn't you know? We're part of your 'protection' crew." Oh god, it just had to be these two.

Out of nowhere, I was grabbed from behind the couch and lifted into the air. Then they were twirling around with their arms around me and kissing my neck. I started to laugh. It was tickling me.

It was Derek. "Derek, stop, put me down!" I said while laughing. 

Just then Rider walked in and stopped when he saw me and Derek. Derek finally stopped and set me down. It looked like Rider was about to say something but he saw Trent and Will. 

He just glared at them. "No- no way!"

I went over to him. "I don't like it either but let's just do this and forget about them."

"I don't trust them."

"I know but there's four of you and two of them, so don't worry about it." He knew I was referring to himself, Luke, Derek and Conner, our omega. I trust him just as much as I trust Derek. 

He's been like my protective older brother. Rider didn't say anything after that and he made sure he stayed by me as we went outside to the car.

Luke, Kenna, Rider and I were in one car and the other four were in the other car. Kenna and Luke were talking in the back while Rider and I stayed silent. 

I could feel that something was eating at him. "Rider.. what's bothering you?"

"I don't want to talk about it right now."

"Is it-"

"Not now, okay?"

I stopped talking after that. We parked in front of his place and got out. Even though Rider seemed upset with me he still stayed by me as we went inside.

 "You two patrol the perimeter and keep me updated." Derek said, looking at Trent and Will. "Connor and I will keep an eye on the girls while you guys pack your things."

"Who made you the boss?" Rider said with a straight face.

"This is my pack and it's my job to keep them safe."

"Well she's mine and I say she stays with me." He said in all seriousness. 

I nodded at Derek. "Fine, just Kenna then."

Luke stepped forward. "She's staying with me also."

He nodded his head and left the room, with Conner following behind him. They went outside and stood by the cars. I followed Rider to his room and I sat on his bed, watching him move around his room as he gathered his things.

He still wasn't talking to me. I stood up and went to his dresser, getting out his clothes and putting them in a duffel bag.

I couldn't stand this tension between us but I was trying to deal with it. The more I thought about it, the more depressed I got.

I didn't like him being mad at me, I don't even know what I did. I thought about it so much that I started to feel a pain in my chest.

A lump started to form in my throat and my eyes wanted to water. I tried to hold it in. I stopped what I was doing and went to walk out the door.
