The time was three in the morning. And Judy still sat, waiting in the living room for Nick to come home. She was extremely tired. And needed to be up for work in two hours. But she pushed those thoughts aside. The twins slept like babies, well, smaller babies as they slept for the first time in a while without their collars. The apartment was very dark, despite the light from the tv. Judy had been watching a home improvement channel. It calmed her. Being that back in bunny burrow, that's all her brothers used to watch, besides sports, and wrestling.
Judy's large ears perked up and turned to the side at the sound of the front door opening. She turned her head. And her eyes widened to see Nick. He looked exhausted. His eyes were red. He had been crying. Judy didn't even hesitate to get up and walked over to Nick.
"Nicholas. Where have you–" Judy got cut off by Nick lifting his paw and pushing Judy back forcefully.
Judy's eyes widened. He just got there. What was this?
"Nicholas......" Judy said softly once she got pushed back, frowning widely.
Nick took a deep breath and pinched the bridge of his nose before speaking.
"I'm sorry....." He said with a cracked voice as he moved his paw away from his face and he looked down at the bunny.
"It....it's okay.......but...are you okay?" Judy asked with a worried tone as she noticed the redness in her husbands eyes.
"I'm fine." He said bluntly as he made his way to their room.
Judy backed up and her ears flattened. She followed behind Nick as he entered their room. Judy was now very concerned for her husband, more than angry he was home late.
When he got inside of the room. He plopped down on the bed and fell asleep within seconds. Judy sighed and sat down on the bed and laid down. But she couldn't get to sleep. Why would he push her like that? Sure, they would fight, but he'd never touch her. And he didn't seem too sorry about it either.
This went on for days on end, before Judy finally had enough.
Nicholas left for work. And Judy took the twins to the neighbors. Being that no daycare would take the tiny crossbreeds.
Judy also went to work, but when she got parking duty. She used this opportunity to go to Wild Times.
She pulled up in her three wheeled slow moving 'car'. Making a loud noise as she pulled up in front of the park gate. And to her surprise, Nick was sitting against the front gate. He didn't have a removal gun is in his paws. But the look on his face said much more than a thousand words.Judy's nose twitched as she approached the fox, and his reaction made her jump a bit.
"Nick.....?" She asked as she raised eyebrow in curiosity, taking off her uniforms hat.
Nicks eyes shot opened and he quickly sat up in his seat, being that he had been daydreaming.
"W-what? Oh. Hello, dear.....what are you doing here? Aren't you on duty?" He frowned as he bit the inside of his cheek. He could feel his heart racing as he saw his wife standing in front of him. Although she wasn't intimidating to the eye. He knew all too well what she was capable of.
"Nicholas.......what's wrong with you? Why are you so angry from coming home from work everyday? D-did I do something?" Her ears flattened as she took another step forward.
"What? No, Judith. You didn't....but...you need to leave....." He said as he lifted his paws up. Making a frantic moving motion with his paws quickly.
"What? Why?" Judy narrowed her eyebrows as she easily noticed that the fox wasn't wearing his wedding ring.
"Who are you waiting for?! Is it a vixen!" She exclaimed from anger as she crossed her arms.
"W-what?! No! Judy.....please.....you need to leave...." He said as his ears perked up and he got off of his chair. "Please. Please, leave." He begged as he grabbed onto her hands.
"I'm not cheating on you. I swear to the kids. You need to leave for your own good. I promise....." He pleaded as tears filled his eyes.
Judy's ears perked up and she frowned at him grabbing onto her hands.
Nick then backed up and handed her the removal gun from behind his chair.
"H-here.....take this.....make sure nobody finds it on you....." He said as his ears perked up at a faint police siren in the distance.
"Everything will be okay. I promise." He said as he leaned forward and kissed her cheek softly. "If you really don't wanna leave. Go hide somewhere." He demanded before he sat back down in his chair. His heart racing from the distant sirens.
Judy's ears perked up from the sirens and she quickly nodded. Knowing deep down, she could trust him. She walked around the warehouse, which served as the interior for the park, then hid behind a small, condemned wall. Knowing that if any of the officers in that police car would see her away from her post, she'd defiantly get fired this time.
Nick had quickly pushed Judy's small car around another wall before sitting back down in his seat. And then, as Nick felt as if he was going to pass out, a large ZPD police car rolled up to the front of the park. And out stepped two officers. One whom was a predator, a wolf, which calmed Nick a little bit. But then there was a moose. A prey animal. Great~
Both Nick and Judy noticed that the two officers were natural predator and prey, like the pair themselves. So Judy thought maybe since they worked together, they'd understand Nick and Judy's situation. That's only if Judy chose to reveal herself. But this situation was mainly about Nick. And Nick HOPED Judy wouldn't come out. At all. She'd just cause more of a problem. But in the back of his mind, he knew his crazy wife would come out anyway at some point.
"Hello Mr. Wilde." The wolf said as he and his partner exited the police car.
The wolf had a T.A.M.E collar. And like every other predator, he had come to this park multiple times. So he knew a few things. As for the moose. Well. He just thought it was an amusement park. Owned by a fox.A sneaky, untrustworthy, fast talking fox.
Nick certainly didn't recognize the wolf. He saw hundreds of other mammals a day. How was he suppose to remember one mammal?
Nick nodded nervously.
"Hello, Officers. What seems to be the problem?" Nick asked as he stood up to greet the two. Trying his best to act professional.
"We got a call of loud disturbances last night from this location. When we came to investigate, there was no one here." The moose replied.
"O-oh. Well.....you can clearly see there is no more disturbances.......I mean.....I wouldn't know about them anyway. I wasn't here." Nick said as his nervous laugh got even louder.
The moose looked unimpressed.
"Sir. Can we have a look inside your facility?" He asked.
Nick hesitated. He looked back towards the gate but nodded softly.
"Y....yeah.....come right in, Officers...." His breath hitched as he walked over to the front gate, opening the two large doors.
Nick always hid the removal cart way in the back of the park, then walked to the front to leave everyday. Because he knew, deep down, this day was coming. It wasn't anything serious. He knew what the loud noises were. He had started construction on his newest attraction at the park. A extremely tall roller coaster. He and Finnick had hired a team to start to build the ride during the night, being that they couldn't build during the day when the park was open. Everything in the park was connected with the lines and concessions and such. But the main reason they couldn't work during the day is that it would attract more attention to the park. Some unwanted attention. So whoever heard the noise, had to be close by. The parks location was in an odd place. Near the edge of zootopia in an abandon warehouse. And because it was in an abandon warehouse. The park was illegal.
The park was illegal.Well shit.
Nick should've thought of that before he decided to do such loud construction at night.
Nicholas felt his stomach drop as his eyes widened. What was he going to say when they asked for papers? And what if the predator officer asked about the removal guns.
It was the worst case scenario that he'd ask about the removal gun, but Nick froze at the thought. Now he really wished Judy would come out and help.
When Nick and the officers entered the park. Judy followed behind from the back of the wall, but kept her distances. So if they turned to look back, she'd be able to hide.
When they entered the main park, the smell of cotton candy and fuel was the first thing you could smell. Which wasn't a very good sign. And no, not the cotton candy.
Nick felt his heart race as the two officers took a very good look around.
"Do you own this property?" The wolf asked, although, already knowing the answer.
Nick nodded quickly, "Y-yes....I own it...."
"How long has this establishment been open for?" The moose asked, clearly trying to pick a bone with Nick.
Nicks ears perked up. He had to really think about this one.
"How old are the kids..." He said quietly to himself before looking at his paws.
"The kids are five...." He groaned.
"U-uh.....e-eig-eight. Yeah. Yeah. Eight years." Nick stammered as his paws began to shake.
"Eight..." He repeated, his voice breaking from fear and anxiety.
