Reuben, Aubrey and Avery, who had just woken up, walked down the stairs into the living room. They saw Jesse standing, facing the couch. On the couch sat Chloe with Beca in her lap. Beca looked as if she had been crying.
Chloe saw them first.
"Hey Avery! You're up!" She said to her daughter.
Beca stood up.
"Reuben, I want you to meet your dad." Beca said.
Reuben looked at the man standing in front of him.
"Hello." Reuben said and held out his hand.
Jesse looked at Reuben and knelt down in front of him.
"Hi bud." He said and remembered the text Aubrey had sent him a few minutes before. It had said, "Reuben is really excited about his new room."
"So are you ready to start setting up your room?" Jesse asked.
"Yes!" Reuben replied.
"Chloe and I will drive the truck, Avery is going to her friend's house, and you three will take the SUV." Aubrey said.
"Yes sir!" Beca said, saluting.
Everyone laughed.
Once they were in the truck, Aubrey finally decided to ask Chloe the questioned she had wanted to ask her since they met Beca.
"Hey Chlo?" She said.
"Yeah, what's up?" Chloe replied.
"Do you love Beca?" Aubrey finally asked.
"Do you want me to lie, or tell the truth?" She asked.
"Chlo, you know I want the truth."
"...Yes." Chloe said. "I do and I have since I met her."
"Are you going to tell her?"
"I don't know. I have no idea what to do."
"You should tell her. She won't be mad."
"You don't know that. It's best for me to wait, she's had a rough week."
"Okay, but... Call me when you decide to tell her. I want to know how it goes!" Aubrey said excitedly.
Chloe laughed. "Okay, I will." She said.
