"Hey Chloe!" Beca said as she walked through the door.
"Hey baby! Hi Bree!" She said to Beca and Aubrey.
"Aubrey is going to babysit while we go out to dinner, just the two of us." Beca said.
"I'll go get dressed!" Chloe said.
"Not too fancy, we're going to Cracker Barrel."
"Yay! I love Cracker Barrel!"
She got dressed and they left. The whole car ride Chloe talked about how much she loved the pancakes with blackberries on them at Cracker Barrel.
"Ok, enough about the pancakes, Chlo." Beca said.
When they finally arrived, Beca and Chloe sat down at the table right near the fireplace. They ordered and when the food came out, Chloe was disappointed. The pancakes had blueberries on them, not blackberries. She tried to hide her disappointment, not wanting to make a scene, but Beca noticed.
"What's wrong?" She asked.
"They have blueberries instead of blackberries, but it's okay." Chloe said, forcing herself to eat at least one pancake.
The waitress came back and asked if they wanted dessert.
"No thanks, I'm good, Beca?" Chloe said.
"If you don't want anything, then I'm fine." Beca said.
"I'm sorry Becs, I'm just not having a good day at all. Laser tag was awful. I had to play since Reuben was too young to play alone. It was awful. Now I can't even get my favorite pancakes. Sorry, I just want to get out of here." Chloe explained.
Beca was upset. She wanted everything to be perfect when she proposed, and she wanted to do that tonight. She wasn't going to give up yet, though.
They left the restaurant and got in the car.
"Beca, this isn't the way home." Chloe said concerned.
"Relax." Beca said.
"Beca, you're scaring me. I want to go home." Chloe said, becoming more and more nervous.
Finally Beca stopped the car on a bridge over a small lake.
"What's going on?" Chloe asked.
"Baby, I love you. I have loved you since you handed me that flyer at the activities fair. I'm going to admit when you barged into my shower, I couldn't help but look down." They both laughed. Then Beca continued. "After not seeing you for ten years, I feared I would never see you again. I never want to be apart from you again. So, Chloe Marie Beale, will you marry me?" Beca got down on one knee and Chloe burst into tears.
"Yes!" She said and kissed Beca. Even though it hadn't started out great, this day was the best day of Chloe's life.
