Chapter 16

Beca grabbed her lunch, which Chloe had packed for her early that morning, and ran out the door. It was 10:50 and Beca had to be there at 11! She jumped in the car and drove to the school. She walked in calmly, like nothing was wrong. She walked to the front desk, and sitting there was a grumpy old lady.
"Hi I'm Beca Mitchell, I'm here for an interview." Beca said and checked the clock.
11:05. She wasn't too late.
"You are five minutes late, Miss Mitchell." The lady said.
"Oh, I'm sorry, my clock must be slow." Beca said, acting like she thought she was on time.
"Alright, please take a seat, I will inform him that you are here." The lady said.
Beca sat down and waited. She was nervous, she had never had a job interview before.
"Hello, Miss Mitchell." She heard a voice say and she looked up to see a tall man in front of her.
"Hello sir." She said politely.
"I'm Principal Smith." He said. "Follow me."
Beca followed him into his office and at down in one of the chairs in front of his desk.
"Okay, let's get started. I hear you are good friends with Miss Beale." He said.
Hearing Chloe's name made her heart leap.
"Yes, we are dating now." Beca said.
"You and Miss Beale?" He questioned.
"Yes, I hope that's not a problem." Beca said.
"Well of course not, I'm just shocked. I did not see Chloe as the kind of person who would date women." He said.
"It's fine... Nobody does." Beca said.
"Anyway, more about you. Where did you work before this?" He asked.
"I worked as an assistant to a music producer, but I was fired." She said sadly.
He asked her other questions about her career, but then he asked her one more personal question.
"Do you have any children?" He asked. He wanted to make sure she knew what she was doing when it came to kids.
"Yes, I have a son named Reuben." Beca said.
"That's great, how old is he?"
"He's seven." Beca answered.
"You got the job!" He said.
