(A/N) okay so my friend mrsbriannabreezy told me that I have to update today or she will feed me to her friend xD so here's the update:

CHRIS POV

Oh my God, what have I done? As I watched Melanie black out, I pressed my ear to her chest, and I could barely hear a heartbeat. I hope she isn't going to die... I felt hot tears streaming down my face and landing on her chest, but I didn't care. The first person I've ever cared about in my entire life could be dead... Just because of me. I laid my head on her chest and held her tightly, not wanting to let go. I couldn't believe I had done this. Not again. I closed my eyes and attempted to go to sleep, hoping that when I woke up in the morning it would all be better.

I woke up, and the first thing I noticed was that Melanie's heart rate was still the same. She was barely breathing, and her heart was barely beating. I groaned loudly and then rolled over, pulling on my boxers and staring down at her naked body. She looked peaceful as she slept, but it made me worried. After today, if she still wasn't awake, she might never wake up... And I needed her to wake up; desperately.

"Melanie?" I asked hopefully. She didn't respond and I shook her shoulder lightly, wishing she would wake up.

"Please come back to me baby." I whispered, fresh tears brimming my eyes. I wiped them away and kissed her forehead, bringing the blanket up to cover her body. I sighed, but my head whipped up when I heard a knock at the door.

"Chris, Jackson wants you." Davis' voice said from outside.

"O-Okay, I'll be right down." I said, getting up and grabbing my key from my nightstand and opening the door to see that Davis was already gone. I locked the door behind me and slipped the key into my pocket, praying that no one had heard me and Melanie last night. That was the LAST thing I needed.

As I descended the stairs, I heard a crowd of voices coming from the kitchen. I jogged down the rest of the stairs and then entered the kitchen to see everyone gathered there. I caught snippets of Jackson's voice.

"I know some of you have brothers there..... No, you have to.... I'm sorry, it's for the best..... But they're attacking first!.... Don't get soft on me now." It sounded like he was scolding everyone that was protesting to whatever he had announced. I shoved people aside as I made my way to the front of the crowd, and Jackson spotted me.

"Chris, just the person I wanted to see." He said in a cold voice, sending chills down my spine.

"Y-Yes sir?" I asked as calmly as I could, trying not to look suspicious.

"I heard that you spared your brother's life before you arrived here yesterday." He announced.

"How did you-"

"I have my ways. Anyway, I'm disappointed in you Chris. Your bonds to your own kind should be stronger than that. If you had killed him then that would have been one less demon we'd have to fight." He said in a disappointed tone. I clenched my jaw and curled my fists.

"But then they'd try to kill at least two of us." I growled. He shrugged and leaned back against the counter.

"We'd kill them first." He stated calmly.

"What kind of a leader are you?! We can't go around risking our own kind and killing off the others! We need even numbers, that's why we usually HAVE even numbers! Without it we're unbalanced!" I shouted, and I felt two other boys grab my arms, holding me back from lunging at Jackson. Jackson looked furious, rage boiling in his eyes. He slowly leaned forward until his face was an inch from mine, and he spoke calmly.
