Jade's POV:

"For someone who seems to be anti-social you sure know how to have fun."

Lightly chuckling, I turned my head slightly so I could look at Brendan. For the past week I ended up spending my time with Brendan and Val who refused to leave my side because they said other people were way worse than they were when meeting new students. Of course though many other students came up to me and tried to have a conversation but since I have a dry attitude they would only speak to me for a few minutes. It wasn't their fault though, I was just quiet and didn't really like speaking when I had nothing of importance to say.

Shrugging my shoulders, I responded to Brendan.

"Just cause I don't like to speak doesn't mean I'm a bore."

"Oh trust me, I can tell by your YouTube videos." Brendan commented as he led the way to our homeroom.

Giving him a lazy smile, I stayed quiet and continued to walk in the direction of Ms. Winters' classroom. Ever since the first day of class there wasn't as much tension between us but of course there were times where she would just give me dirty looks whenever I would make a comment that seemed inappropriate. For the most part though, I decided to behave because I wasn't looking for trouble in the first week of school; for that I would wait until the second month.

Walking into my homeroom with Brendan right behind me, I glanced over to the front and saw Ms. Winters sitting down at her desk writing things down. Too distracted with staring at her, I didn't notice that Brendan was speaking to me until he nudged my shoulder with his.

"Huh?" I quickly responded as I turned my head to look at him.

"I said it looks like you're going to have to find a new seat to sit down at since people are gathered around yours."

Frowning, I turned my head to look at my desk to noticed that people were in fact around my desk as well around Val's who looked extremely preoccupied.

Groaning, I felt my shoulders get heavier causing me to drop them a bit.

"I think they're finishing some homework." I heard Brendan mumble before he spoke up again.

"Hey Val what are you guys doing?" Brendan called out.

Lifting her head, I watched as Val gave us a small smile before responding.

"The math homework that Henderson gave us which is worth 40 points."

Turning my head slightly to look at Brendan I noticed how tension he became before he exhaled deeply.

"Shit..." Brendan mumbled before he excused himself from me to head over to the group of people who were doing the math homework.

"Don't worry Brendan nobody understands it." I heard Val said before she turned her head back down to look at her paper.

Awkwardly standing in the front of the room I was about to find a chair to sit down at when I heard Brendan call my name.

"Hey Foster did you do the math homework?"

Sighing, I bit my bottom lip before responding.

"I don't take math anymore, remember? I finish all my math in 10th grade and then some." I commented.

"Holy shit! I forgot you're hella smart!"

"Watch your language Mr. Grant." Ms. Winters quickly said.

"Sorry Ms. Winters." Brendan mumbled.

Rolling my eyes, I walked over to the group of people to see what kind of math they had.
