I was fully prepared for Rin's 'Cooking Mode' but I didn't think he'd actually be so into it. He stood behind me, pressed firm against my back, with his hand covering mine as they held the skillet's handle.

Such a position would have made him blush like a madman anywhere else.

But now I was the one blushing, which only made my face darken even more. I wasn't usually one to get flustered easily but I could feel every curve and muscle of his body as he pressed against me.

"I know you know the basics of cooking and how to prepare a regular meal. But sometimes adding a little flare and adjusting the way you make something can really make a difference."

I nodded as I shook the skillet, keeping the food from sticking to the metal or letting certain parts get more done than others.

"You're doing great."

I nodded again and, although I knew he probably couldn't see it, let a smile take over my features.

"Thanks."

His chest slightly rumbled against my back as he let out a small chuckle.

"It's no problem. I'm glad you finally took an interest in letting me do this with you. When I first brought it up I thought for sure you were going to rip my head off."

A smirk replaced my smile as I remembered. I knew he hadn't meant any ill will, he only wanted to spend some time with me doing something he knew both of us liked, but I had felt kind of insulted that the way he phrased it was 'You should let me teach you how to cook.'

"I thought about it, but it'd be a waste of a perfectly good face."

"Just the face?"

I shrugged, wanting to mess with him a little, as my smirk grew.

"Eh."

"What's that supposed to mean?!

"I've seen better."

Total lie.

I felt him tense behind me as his hand left mine to reach forward and turn off the stove heat before his tail grasped onto my upper arm and twirled me around.

"Rin? What are you-?"

"Who?"

"What?"

"Who else have you seen?"

I sighed and shook my head, smiling, before holding his face between my hands and rubbing my thumbs up and down against his cheeks.

"No one. I was just messing with you. I'm sorry I made you upset."

The scowl on his face faded, as did his tail's grasp on my arm, as he calmed down. But there was still something in his eyes that I couldn't quite place.

"You should be."

He grinned before leaning down to place a firm, slightly rough, kiss upon my lips. His hands pulled me away from the stove and turned me to the table in the middle of the kitchen as his tail wrapped around my waist, under my shirt. Small giggles erupted from my mouth whenever he pulled away, a smile on his face.

"What are you laughing for?"

"Your tail. It tickles."

His smile widened at my words and my eyes widened.

"Don't you dare, Okumura."

But his smile only turned into a grin as he began to lightly drag his tail along my torso, tickling several different places.

"Rin! Stop!"

I tried to pull away, though I was still laughing, but his hands held me firm against the table.

"Take it back. Then I might consider it."

"Take what back?!"

"That you saw better."

I writhed under the torture of his tail before trying to still myself, though there was still a small jerk here and there.

"Could you stop first?"

"No."

I groaned and he seemed to make his punishment even worse by focusing on my sides.

"Alright! Alright! I take it back! I haven't seen better than you!"

And he stopped, a stupid grin on his face, while I glared at him and panted.

"You're an ass."

He leaned down so his forehead met mine, gazes locked.

"I know. Yukio reminds me every day."

I shook my head, laughing a little before raising my hands to settle on his face.

"I meant it. I was only messing with you before."

My smile widened as I began planting small, quick kisses on his lips.

"You're amazing."
