**** Gabriel sat in the study going over the Sanders case. Unfortunately, Brittany and the baby kept popping into his mind. How in the world did this happen? This wasn't supposed to happen, at least not right now.

'We have to tell her family now. Beau's gonna kill me.' The agent shook his head and forced his mind back to the task at hand, or would have if the phone hadn't rang.

"Ivanov here." Gabriel shot up in his seat as the General's voice filled his ear.

"Hello, Gabriel my boy. I hear my daughter is in Montana, as are you. How is that case we talked about?"

Gabriel smiled, "Nice to hear from you, sir. To be honest I have nothing new to report. However, I do have a bad feeling about this one."

"Hmm. You feel the danger close?"

"Yes, sir. To close. She's here on the ranch, and she's not alone. I could use the team's help on this one, sir. Beau brought in more men, but this ranch is a huge chunck of land. We can only guard so much of it. Now if we had more men, that wouldn't be a problem."

"I see. I have to agree with you on that one, son. How about I send team two down. I'd send your boys, but I have them watching over the White House. There was another bomb threat, and your team is the best there is."

Gabriel nodded. He knew that they were the best, after all it was he himself that trained them. "I could really use the help. To be honest, most of my attention will be elsewhere."

Back in D.C. the General understood the sound in the younger man's voice, "That young wife of your's... when is she due?"

Gabriel felt the slap right across his face, "How...?"

Chuckle, "I was there once, son. I remember how it is."

Sadie sat high on the mountain with the binoculars to her eyes. Her hands shook as she watched her brother. He and that woman. They'd taken the bait, but something was off about her. Something differant. It didn't matter anymore. She now knew what she had to do. She needed Brittany alive.

'Gabriel will do anything to keep her safe. So when the time is right my man will bring her to me. Alive and hopefully unspoiled. Then I'll send my beloved brother pictures of all the girl fun we will be having together.' She chuckled, 'It's been a long time since I had a girl to talk to. I think it's about time I got myself a friend.'

True Wolf knelt down to study the boot print. Kyle stood not far from his Deputy. "You know, I'm suppost to be at my son's game right now. Instead I'm here hunting for trespassers on the mountain."

True turned to look at the older man, "How did Mike take the news?"

The Sheriff knelt down to study another print in the soil. "Not well. I never did either at his age. My son understands, but he still wants his ol' man there to watch him play."

True nodded, "Sorry, boss. Maybe I should have called my Uncle."

Kyle shook his head, "You know as well as I do, that Bear would have pulled himself out of that hospital bed and come out to help. That knee will never be normal. He hates me for keepin' him on desk duty as it is."

True chuckled, "You are his major complaint."

The Shariff grinned and stood. "No doubt there. By the way, True Wolf."

The Native American stood and turned to face his friend, "Yes, sir?"

Kyle grinned all the wider, "What do you think of Tina? She's a sweety, right?"

True took a step back, stunned. "Where did that come from? She's another cop. What else am I supposed to think about her?"

"Don't give me that. I saw the look you two gave each other. I know somethin' is up. It was the same with Charity. Trust me, son. It will only get harder to think about work if you don't do somethin' about this soon. I've been there. Hell, I'm still there."

True had no idea what to say to that one. 'What makes everyone think that I have a thing for this girl? They're enjoying this way to much.'

Brittany was at the office with Tina looking over some files. "Wow. You were right, T. Some of these cold cases do look a lot like the M.O. we're dealing with right now."

Tina nodded, "I know, right. Look at this one. The victim was an eighteen year old track champion. She had silver-blue eyes, long blonde hair, and a small build. Look here, the tox screan. Wow! Drugged before the torture even began. Pore girl never had a chance."

Brittany snatched the file, "Give me that. I remember this girl. We went to the same high school together. Her name was Katie Mires. She was a really sweet girl too. My dad helped her out of a tight spot with her own father once. He used to beat the crap out of her. I never knew what happened to her."

Tina could see the pain on her partner's face. That would be terrible to never know what happened to a good friend, then to find out like this years later. "Tany, I'm sorry you had to find out like this. But, we have to keep our feelings out of this."
