Chapter 3 - The Second Phase

Third Person POV

Satotz was expecting something serious to come out but to think the the little girl's question was something else. Nao continued to stare at the examiner and expected an answer with curiosity showing in her eyes, Satotz sweatdropped at the sight but didn't know if he should feel offended or not.

Satotz bent downs bit and whispered something into Nao's ear making her widen her eyes in surprise. She stares at him with sparkling eyes thinking about what he said. She got an answer and she was happy.

Nao then kept her eyes on her track. They were running for quite a while and stopped in front of a big gate. Apparently, Nao was the first to finish the phase. She sat down and waited for Hisoka to come.

She spotted Gittarackur aka Illumi Zoldyck. Deciding to stay with him while she waited for Hisoka, she went over to him and tugged the hem of his clothing.

"Illu-nii..."

Nao's POV

"Illu-nii..." I looked up at him as he patted me on the head. I stayed with him, neither of us started a conversation until I saw Hiso-nii come but with someone over his shoulder. I looked closer and realized it was Leorio-oji-san.

"Hiso-nii, what are you doing with Leorio-oji-san?" I yelled in a semi loud voice, making the people who heard widen their eyes in shocked at the fact I'm close to a psychopath. I ran over to Hiso-nii as he put Leorio-san down, leaning on a trunk.

"Nothing, he passed my test~" Hiso-nii said and I immediately knew what he meant. I sighed, knowing what he was thinking. As we walked away, Gon and Kurapika-nii ran up to Leorio-oji-san. I held on Hiso-nii's hand as we waited for the second phase to start along with Illu-nii.

Noticing that the three of the four in the group, Kurapika-nii, Gon, and Killua, we're looking at me suspiciously and surprisingly while Gon looked with some admiration in his eyes as I stood with Hiso-nii and Illu-nii.

Satotz-san was leaving saying that we already reached the entrance of Phase Two. He went away but I still sense him not far from us on the tree. I didn't care much about it as I waited.

We didn't need to wait any longer before the gate to the second phase started to open. Inside shows a large white building with two examiners sitting in front o f the door step. One is an large obese male and the other is a female with green hair.

The woman invited us in and welcomed us as she introduced herself as Menchi and the other as Buhara. Suddenly a loud growl echo through the place as everyone looked towards the two examiner.

"I'm starving..." Buhara-san said as he rubbed his stomach.

"So there you have it, Phase Two will involve cooking!" Menchi-san exclaimed to us. Everyone started to laugh at her especially when she mentioned that they both were Gourmet Hunters. Hiso-nii is standing next to me as he had somewhat of a smirking/smiling face.

I could tell that Menchi-san was getting a pissed as most people made fun of Gourmet Hunters. I think this will turn out into a bad situation in the end.

"The required is pork. Your free to use meat from any species of Biska Forest pigs. And you only pass if we both find it delicious." Buhara-san instructed as he stood up. As the phase started, everyone started running out hurriedly.

According to my knowledge, there's only one kind of pig in this Biska Forest and that pig is also carnivorous but all you need to do is hit its weakpoint, its forehead. As I went looking for the pig, I lost sight of Hiso-nii and Illu-nii.........again.

As I was looking around, I saw Killua, Gon, Kurapika-nii, and Leorio-oji-san running from a pig about twice my size. Found my piggy! I ran towards the pig and jumped onto its forehead. It fainted immediately after.

"Yo guys! I would love to stay and talk but as you can see, I am kind of inn a hurry so bye bye!" I yelled as I ran away from the horde of pigs and left them to chase after them. I could hear them yelling at me to come back from here.

I dragged to pig back and decided to make the dish, Sweet & Sour Pork. I sometimes make food for the Troupe since they seem to like it in some way. I'm not confident that I'll satisfy Menchi-san but I'm confident that I'll do better than most since they are just roasting it.

After I finish cooking, I went towards where Menchi-san and Buhara-san is judging the food. So far no one has passed Menchi-san's test yet. I went behind Kurapika-nii. His dish looks appealing.

I watch as he serve to them and Mechi-san tried it only to say it taste horrible and that it was no better than Leorio-oji-san. Now I'm kind of worried of my dish. I think my dish won't be good enough for her to pass me. Chrollo-nii will get mad if I fail though.

"I'm full, I'm full." Buhara-san exclaimed.

"Yeah, I'm full too." Menchi-san said in a foul mood.

They totally ignored me. Are they not going to try my food? I don't want to fail this exam and get Chrollo-nii mad. Not noticing tears were coming out of the corner of my eyes as I stood in front of the two examiners with a deadly aura around me which they finally tok notice of me in front of them.

"M-Menchi-san, B-Buhara-san...you guys won't try my dish. I don't want to fail. Please try it." I said teary-eyed. I really don't want to disappoint the Troupe especially since they took care of me and treated me so nicely for so long.

"I'm full so no one passes. We're finished here." Menchi-san said as she stood up.

I cried because I disappointed Chrollo-nii and the others. I didn't want to go back failing! I let out an enormous amount of Ren break out.

Third Person POV

Almost everyone fell onto their knees from the supreme power exerted from the small girl except for a few. Hisoka was grinning like a maniac getting turned on by the power while Illumi was as stoic as ever but there was a slight change on her facial expression showing that he indeed is affected by the young girl's power.

Menchi and Buhara were both in shock and in fear of the young girl being able to wield such great power at a young age. The young girl continues to cry thinking about how she disappointed the people she's even would call her family, the Phantom Troupe.

Satotz was also amazed to be able to feel the girl's Nen from such a far distance as he shielded himself with Ten. He immeditately contacted Bean who told the Chairman, Netero. They arrived at the location to be able to feel the girl's Ren.

Netero jumped down the blimp and was going to knock the girl unconscious but she disappeared before his eyes a second before he could land a hit on her.
