It's been about 3 weeks since the incident and things started looking up for Michael. I had spoken to not only the principle but coach Kendall about the boys and now they are suspended not only from school but playing sports for a while. They haven't messed with anyone sense, with out them here everything had a much calmer feel to it without them here.
Michael had babysat dil while Dan and Phil had went out for a much needed date night and it went great. Better than it had with any other babysitter they've gotten, now he's sitting dil about every other weekend. Michael had grown close to Dan and Phil, who had slowly started to be an extra pair of dads for the boy.
That's why Phil wasn't surprised to see the boy knock on his door during lunch.
"Um... Mr. Lester?" He asked. Although he calls me Phil when we're not at school, it's just more acceptable for him to call me that while we're here.
"Oh hey Michael. What's up?" I put down my book I had been reading to look up at him.
"Um... I need to some advice." He asked nervously.
"Sure. What's this about?" I raised my eyebrows. I was really curious about this. "Well, umm... I've had this crush on someone for a while now butIcantaskhimoutcauseimnot
outreallybutireallyreallywantto." He mumbled and spoke really fast to the point I could barely understand what he was saying.
"What?" I asked. He took a deep breath before pushing a curl out of his eyes.
"I um.... You know James?" He bit his lip and I smiled. Yeah, I knew James. He was cute. Blond hair, green eyes, lots of freckles.
I nodded before he continued. "We've been friends forever and I've sorta liked him sense well.... Forever and I want to ask him out today at lunch but I'm scared and well your you and I thought maybe..." He rambled on and I laughed.
"Of course. Your anxious and need a pep talk and your to scared to ask your dad so you asked the resident gay for help." I spoke with a straight face making him burst into laughter.
"Well yeah. When you put it that way...." He rolled his eyes. Which were still a tiny bit black but a majority of the bruising had gone away.
I laughed to, I was shocked to see that he wasn't just a quiet shy kid, he was actually funny.
"I say you go out there and ask him out and make it where he can't help but say yes because how would he be able to say no. Be confident and proud and if anyone says anything know that uncle Phil will be right here to bring them down to hell." I said in all seriousness, making Michael roll his eyes.
"Okay you know what. I'm just gonna do it. But not cause of that crappy speech." He laughed and i pretended to act all offended.  "Oh okay then I see how it is. But really though, go out there and just do it. I'll see you after words." He smiled at me and nodded before walking out of the classroom and back out to his friends who I assumed where at lunch.
I smiled, he really made me think of little me, and if he was anything like me he was gonna have James before the day was over.

After lunch, I had my AP English class to teach and the last two students to walk in to my classroom was a flustered Michael holding hands with James. I smirked, having a feeling I knew exactly what had happened while they were at lunch.
I just hope it was nothing like me and Dan would do, dear god someone needs to have the gay sex talk with this boy before things get out of hand
