Lovely Bones

Hey everyone!
I hope you guys have already read the book or at least watched the movie-Lovely Bones. It was one of those movies/books that made me cry so much and bothered me for the next couple of days so I decided to express my thoughts the only way I know how...

Lovely Bones
The screams that no one could hear
The atmosphere thick with fear
Blinded by tears and bloody smears

Her captor
She thought she could trust
Held her down
For murder did he lust

This hell she wished she could depart
All she felt was the pounding of her heart

Hope sank the moment she knew
That none would come to her rescue

Her dreams shattered
Body and soul battered

Her life flashed before her eyes
Love, family, laughter
Gone was her happily ever after

Life is not fair
Yet did anyone not care that her life had only just begun
Only to die, oh so young

Where was the world when she needed them most
When the pain of the knife morphed her into a ghost

Her piercing cries keen 
She was only fifteen

Stuck between forever and now
She was not ready to go somehow
She had unfinished matters to attend
There were old and new relationships to mend
But most of all
She waited for his fall
Justice needed to be served
Evil needed to suffer what it deserved

The earth sighed in relief
At the death of another
Murderer and thief

Even being crushed beneath the snow did not satisfy
The whole gravity of the lives of innocent girls that had to die

At the break of day
She could no longer stay

Absent but not forgotten
By those she loved
At peace, at rest
Watching from above 

This wooden box
No longer haunting
Once a prison
No longer daunting
Under the earth it was swept with the secret that it kept

It now treasured beneath the dirt and stones the remains of her lonely bones

Yet more than what the eyes could see
Her death, her story, her memory
Her life-an array of captured tones

These were her lovely bones.
