You should vote because of my awesome Hagrid impression. ;)

None of this is mine. FYI. Only Mercury, Jessica and her brothers, and Delilah. Also any of the plot that you don't recognize.

Chapter 4 Hey There, Delilah

Harry and I stared at one another. I had no idea on what to say.

“Are you my cousin?” he asked.

I nodded. “I think so.”

Harry and I had gotten on just fine, and we tended to steer clear of our cousin, Dudley. Harry had a cupboard under the stairs as a room, and I had the spare room upstairs that used to hold all of Dudley’s toys. Most of the time, Harry and I were in my room, talking about what’s been going on, of our parents, or just drawing and enjoying the outdoors. On one particular odd afternoon, an owl flew up to my window and started pecking furiously.

Surprised, I quickly opened it. The owl was a dark shade of black, and it had luminous yellow eyes. It watched me as I looked at the two envelopes. One was for me, the other for Harry.

“Harry!” I shouted down the stairs.

He ran up and I threw the envelope at his face. I grinned smugly when it hit it’s mark.

“Hey!” he yelled.

I smirked and looked down at my own letter. I opened it and it read:

Dear Mercury

You and Harry will be attending Hogwarts soon. I will have one of the staff members come pick you up to get your school supplies in Diagon Alley. You will then, on September 1, get a ride from your aunt and uncle to the King’s Cross Station in London. Once you are there, you will find the platform of 9 ¾. The platform is disguised as the barrier of platforms 9 and 10. All you need to do is run through the barrier.

See you at Hogwarts,

Albus Dumbledore

I glanced over at Harry. His eyes were as wide as saucers, and I nearly bust out laughing.

“It’s true,” I said knowingly. “I met Dumbledore.”

“Should we show them?” he asked, ‘them’ meaning the Dursleys.

I thought for a moment. Then decided, “We’re going to have to tell them sooner or later. But beware of any reaction.”

Harry nodded, and slowly made his way out of my room. When he approached the stairs, I went to follow. Each step we took down the staircase made a large creaking noise. Finally, we reached the bottom.

“Hey, Uncle Vernon?” Harry asked.

Uncle Vernon was in his favorite armchair in the living room. It was sat right in front of the television, and in the morning, the sunlight blanketed over it, making it easier to read the paper, as he was now.

“What, boy? I’m busy,” Vernon snarled.

“Um, I got a letter. It’s from a magic school called Hogwarts.”

I was expecting yelling like, ‘There’s no such thing as magic!’ or even ‘Get back in your cupboard, boy!’ but I wasn’t expecting what actually happened.

Vernon paled, which usually never happens. Normally he turns a violent shade of violet. He snatched the letter in Harry’s hand and read it over. His pig-like eyes that his son took after widened into a sickening shape. Vernon then hurriedly chucked the letter into the unlit fireplace and snatched a match from his pocket along with it’s book. He struck the match head and threw it into the fireplace along with the letter. In satisfaction, he watched it shrivel and smoke.
