Chapter 6 Third Year Shifties

I hate dementors, did you know? I was just sitting in a compartment on the Hogwarts Express with Fred and George (Hermione was forced to sit with Harry and Ron) and I get attacked by a freaking dementor.

“Mere! Mere, are you okay?” I heard a voice.

I blinked until the darkness faded out of my vision. Then I recognized the voice: George.

“Y-yeah. A-all good,” I muttered.

Fred snorted and lifted me off of the floor and onto one of the booth-like seats.

“What did you see?” George asked.

“How’d you know I saw something?”

“It’s a dementor. It makes you relive every unhappy moment. You passed out, so I expect you were in a memory.”

I was. It was horrible. It was the time when Harry and I had gotten into a fight.

*Flashback*

“Why are you so cold towards me?” I asked Harry.

“Because you’re stealing my friend away from me!” Harry glanced briefly at Hermione before turning back to me.

“I did no such thing!” I yelled back.

“Yes you are! You’re trying to corrupt Hermione because you’re jealous!” he screamed for the whole common room to hear. And let me tell you, it was filled to the brim with every Gryffindor student.

“Jealous of what?” I laughed.

“Jealous because I have more friends than you! Jealous because everyone pays more attention to me than you!” and then he began to ramble off reasons why I was ‘jealous’.

I laughed humorlessly. “That’s not true and you know it. You think I’m attention seeking? Look at you. You’re the one screaming profanities in the common room, accusing your cousin of things that don’t even make sense! Have you even bothered to ask Hermione if I have manipulated her in any way?!”

Harry’s eyes flashed with guilt for a moment, before they blazed with rage. He then stormed off into his dormitory. I glared at the spot where he was just standing. Everyone in the common room was staring at me.

“Well?!” I yelled at them. “Don’t you people have lives?”

The rest of that night, I spent in Fred and George’s dormitory, wondering why Harry would scream at me like that. I was in tears, I felt so betrayed. Of course the twins helped majorly by never leaving my side. They even let me sleep in their dorm when I was afraid that Hermione would agree with Harry. I loved them.

*Flashback Over*

“It was that time in first year,” I said quietly. Both twins knew that it was still a sore spot for me.

George hugged me. “Here, have some chocolate!”

I laughed and obliged, the chocolate spreading warmth throughout my body as I ate it.

“C’mon,” Fred said as the train stopped moving. “You were out a long time. We’re at Hogsmeade already.”

With George supporting me because I was lightheaded from the dementor attack, we made our way up to the castle.
