Craig
Shifting from one foot to the other, I checked my watch to see that it was half past seven in the evening. She was supposed to be here by now, and I was beginning to wonder what was taking her so long. I was standing outside some fancy french restaurant waiting for her, getting even more impatient by the second.
A woman that was maybe the same age as myself, approached me wearing an elegant black dress which only reavealed the porcelain skin on her arms and colorbone. Her brown hair was pulled up into a tight ponytail, and her features were soft and sweet like one of a doll's. There was a mischievous glint in her big brown eyes, and there was something about her that was very familiar.
"Hey, come here alone?"
I smiled politely. "Actually no. I'm just waiting for my girlfriend." I explained, hoping that she would get the hint and go on about with the rest of her day.
The woman didn't seem the least bit disappointed. In fact, she attempted to carry on the conversation. "Well, I'm Ally. So, I take it that you're here for a romantic evening with your girlfriend?"
"I'm Craig, and yeah I am. She's just running a little late, that's all." I said, doing my very best to avoid eye contact. Ally looked at me curiously. "So what's the occasion?"
I was really getting fed up with this stranger and her questions, and was considering telling her to get lost when the woman who I had been waiting for strutted from her car. Ally followed my gaze to see her walking towards us, and she smirked. "See you later Craig." she winked, walking into the restaurant.
I wasn't even paying attention to Ally as I ran my eyes all over my girlfriend's caramel colored toned body. She was wearing a sexy red halter dress that stopped at her mid-thigh. her make-up and hair was done to perfection. Yeah, she was gorgeous, but she wasn't as beautiful as I once thought she was.
"Who was that woman?" She asked turning her nose up and and glaring at the back of Ally's head as she walked in.
"She's no one. But its good that you're here now. We were probably going to lose our reservations." I said as she latched onto my arm and I escorted her inside the restaurant. She snorted. "As if anyone would turn down Craig Crippen. You dont even need a resevation."
She had a point. I was one of the most popular celebrities in America, and was known in some other parts of the world. Any restaurant that turned me down would probably suffer from a major popularity decrease.
We were escorted to our table without a problem, and I even noticed Ally a few tables over, sitting with a man that was also dressed formally. If she already had a date, why was she trying so hard to make conversation with me?
The restaurant was called L. A. Petit Elegantes, and everything about this place was posh and elgant, hence the name. The walls were a dark brown color, illuminated by multiple lights spread throughout the restaurant. The table that we were sat at had a cream colored cloth over it with a single red rose in a clear vase and a lit candle as a centerpiece.
I had no idea what was written down on the menu, so my girlfriend ordered something called 'Escargot' for the both of us. Once the meal was served, I realized that the dish was a plate of cooked snails. There was no way in hell that I would eat it, so I ordered some toasted brie instead. The whole time we were eating I noticed Ally stealing glances at me, attempting to be discreet. I ignored her and focused on the woman sitting across from me.
We were almost through with our meal when I decided that it was time to do what I came here for. Taking a red velvet box from the pocket of my very expensive suit, I slid it across the table so that it sat infront of my girlfriend. She looked at me questioningly before picking it up and running her fingers a few times over the fabric. When she opened it, her jaw was on hanging open, and she held a hand over her mouth.
I took her other hand in mine and entertwined our fingers. No heat ran through my hand, and no warmth filled my body when we touched. I knew I wasn't in love with her anymore, but I wanted to settle down, so I guess she was the one I would do it with.
"I love everything about you, and I love every second that I spend with you." I said, lying through my teeth. "Will you marry me?"
She was hysterical as she jumped up from her seat and sat on my lap, kissing me passionately. "Of course I will Craig!" she said, slipping the ring onto her own finger.
Everyone in the restaurant seemed to be staring at us in awe, watching as we kissed. When I pulled away, Ally was stood right in front of us with the man she was sitting with earlier. He had a camera up to his face while Ally had a mini microphone close to mine. I cursed under my breath as I finally realized why she seemed so familiar. She was Allison Rose, one of the most popular and well known reporters out there, getting paid to obtain interesting and juicy facts about the hottest celebrities. She could either make or break your career.
"So Craig Crippen, now that it is known that you are engaged, would you care to let the world know who you're stunning fiance is?" She asked eagerly, shoving the mini microphone in my face. I sighed, knowing that I wouldn't be able to keep it hidden for long.
"This is my fiance, Hana Thomas."
