(A/N This chapter is dedicated to my friend Shacoyaaaaa since yesterday was her day of birth. I made this chapter longer just for you. Happy Birthday again !)
Serena
Considering that I haven't been to the salon since Leah allowed me to stay at her house, I wasn't surprised when Mario, Thalia and Candace immediately hurled questions at me when I walked through the door.
"I'm sorry I haven't been here guys." I said , attempting to maneuver my way through the three of them. Mario stood in my way with his arms crossed, his formerly green hair now an angry shade of red.
"Serena, we at least deserve an explanation. " He said. I sighed and turned to all of them. "I just have a lot going on guys, but I promise I'll be here from now on." Candace pulled me into a hug. "You know you can tell us anything, right?"
"Yeah," Thalia chimed in. "If something is bothering you , you shouldn't keep it in." I put on a fake smile and once again lied to my friends. "Everything's fine guys. But thanks for having my back. I really appreciate it."
After that, everything just went back to normal at Candy's Salon. Regular and new clients walked in , Thalia and Mario were at each others throats, and Candace filled me in on the details of another one of her unintentional one night stands. It was like I haven't even been gone for almost two weeks.
"Its 6 o'clock, so it's time for me to get the hell up out of here." Mario announced, making his way towards the door.
"And where are you in such a rush to get to? It's not like you got a man waiting for you. " Thalia teased. Mario smirked at her.
"As a matter of fact I do. Remember that guy you didn't think was gay? Well he is, and he's taking me out. I bet your lonesome ass wish you had a man. Ciao babes!" And with that, Mario rushed out the door, leaving Thalia with a bitter look on her face while Candace and I were laughing our asses off.
"You salty or naw?" I managed to ask her through my laughter. She ignored me and picked up her purse. "Well anyway, I gotta get home." she said, making her way towards the door.
"Why?" Candace asked. "To go home to the man that you don't have?" Candace and I were crying from laughter, while Thalia just flipped us off and walked out the salon.
Once we had stopped laughing I decided to help Candace clean up. In the midst of sweeping I heard the jingle that signified that the front door was opened and someone walked in.
"Sorry, we're closed." I said to whoever walked in, and continued sweeping.
"Serena, I need to talk to you." I turned around at the sound of Daniel's voice, shocked to see him standing in front of me.
"We have nothing to talk about." I said, trying to keep up a nonchalant facade. Daniel sighed. "Please come home Serena. I need you and Saffie back."
"Daniel I'm not coming back. We're done. Sapphire and I will be just fine without you." I finalized.
Honestly I wasn't surprised when Daniel grabbed my arm, resorting to violence to try and get me back. "Listen here Serena-"
"Is there a problem?" Candance asked , walking out of the back room. Daniel immediately let me go. "No, I was just telling my girlfriend about a surprise I have waiting for her. I came to pick her up. " He lied smoothly, pulling me close to him.
"But I won't be able to leave now, I wasn't done cleaning." I said, trying to indirectly tell Candace that I didn't want to leave with him.
"Its fine Serena, I can finish by myself." She said, not taking a hint.
