After meeting about one hundred other people, awkward introductions, and even more awkward conversations, Rhymer showed me around the house.
"OK, so this is the living room, as you already know." He spread his hand out and covered the whole room, then, walked over to the stairs.
"This room in here is the kitchen."
Ha, I knew it!
Rhymer began to climb the stairs, glancing back at me every so often.
"Stop looking at me." I grumbled lightly. For some reason, when people just look at me, it makes me angry. Rhymer just laughed and continued walking up the stairs.
When we reached the top, he just stopped and took in the view. As soon as I stood next to him, I can see why he wanted to look.
Straight across from us was a wall, but it wasn't normal. It was glass, covering the whole room and letting the view of the mountains behind it to be seen.
After a moment of silence, I walked into the room and saw heaven.
There was one couch, ten bean bag chairs, a pool table and a foosball table. Oh, I can't forget the sixty inch plasma screen TV that was mantled on the beam holding the glass pieces together.
I turned to Rhymer who was smiling at me.
"Are you kidding me! This is where you live? This is insane!" I exclaimed as I ran my hand along the pool table.
Rhymer's smile got bigger and he laughed as he walked over to me.
"Yep, this is where you live now, too, Trickster. If you look out right here -" Rhymer told me, pointing to the left corner. "- then you can see the pool, sports courts, gym, and the rest of the housing."
Sure enough, I saw all of that. Who would've known that behind a hill with a house was acres and acres of this. Not me, that's who.
"Good lord! That's a lot of people, man. Who are the ones that live in this house?" I asked, pointing my finger to the floor to signify 'here'.
"Frosty, Cherry, Tornado and I. This is like the main house and only the 'leaders' can stay. But, we have a few extra rooms so I'm sure that Frosty would let you stay up here, if you want." Rhymer shrugged it off, leaving the decision up to me.
"Yeah, I think I'd like it more up here... considering I actually kind of know the people living here." I smiled, looking up at him.
"Alright, cool. Hey, I'm sure Cherry would love to take you to our little mall area thing when she comes back from her food." I laughed at the attempt Rhymer had made with the 'mall area thing'.
"Oh, yeah. That's gonna be a good time." I told him, sarcastically as I smiled. It looked like he was about to say something when another thing popped into his head because his eyes lit up.
"We need to make 'trickster' suit you. Have you pulled any tricks back home?" Rhymer was totally into this whole name thing.
"Ya know, I don't really think 'trickster' suits me at all. It's just not who I am... I think we need to come up with a new name." I said, softly. I didn't want to hurt his feelings and I didn't want to feel bad about telling him I didn't want the name he picked out for me. I smiled slightly.
"Oh... OK! Besides singing, is there anything you - Wait! You said you were a pretty good freestyle right? Show me whatchu got, girl." I was surprised by how nonchalant Rhymer was even though I basically told him that his name for me sucked. I was also surprised that I now had to do a freestyle for him.
