Chapter 19

Chapter 19~ Lightning

~16 years later~

I walked up the stairs of the old building with a book in my hand. The church bells were going off as I walked across the roof. The bed sheets were flying in the wind. I got to my secret hiding, where I had all of my books stacked. I shut one and sat down on the bench. My Mom told me she found me here on a stomy night. I had a bed sheet wrapped around me and laying in a basket. The clouds were getting darker and there were sounds of thunder filled the sky. I stood up as I watched the sky change. The rain poured down fast and hard.

I sat back on the bench and watched the rain before going back to my book. It wasn't long when I felt someone or something staring at me. I looked up to see a guy in a black coat with his hood over his head.

"May I help you?" I asked, but he didn't say anything. I got up from the bench and stepped towards him. "Hey, are you going to answer me?" I asked him but again I received no answer. I was going to reach out for him but he grabbed my wrist and pinned me against the wall. My eyes were wide open and looking at him.

"Look over there!" I said pointing with my other hand. I was hoping that he would look and I would be able to get out of his grip. With my luck he did looked and I ripped my wrist away from his grip. I stepped a foot away from him and rubbed my throbbing wrist. He turned back to me with a death glare. He stepped closer and I stepped back each step he took.

"Can't we solve this in a manner way? I don't know who you are and why you are after me but please tell me what is that you want?" I asked him. I looked him into his eyes. I had chills run through my body.

"I need to kill you." I heard soft whispers. I couldn't believe that what I heard was coming from my mind.

"Okay, if you want to kill me you have to catch me first." I told him. He charged at me but I ducked and rooled on the floor and ran for my life. I ran down the stairs and flew off the last few steps. I looked back as I ran and saw he wasn't there. At the same time I bumped into something hard. I stumbled back onto my butt. Looking up at the guy who was trying to kill me.

"What.....When... How?" I yelled as I got back up on my feet. He stepped forward and i stepped back. "Look over there!!" I pointed but he didn't fall for the trick. I cursed under my breathe and paid attention to his moves. I knew if I couldn't defend myself, I'll be dead.

He charged at me with a knife and I jumped back with my hands accidentally out. He slit my fore arm. I hissed in pain and held my wound.

"Hey watch it with that thing!" I yelled as he attacked me again but this time I strucked out lightning from my hands. His body went into seizure mode. I stared back and forth at him and my hands. I jolted more lightning from my hands. It wasn't long until he turned into ashes.

After standing with my eyes wide in disbelief, I ran home. The rain was pouring harder and the lightning and thunder were coming in one after another.

I limped inside my house and saw my Mom arranging plates on the table. She looked up and gasped as she ran to me. "Chen, what happened to you?!" she yelled with worry laces in her words.

"There was a guy who was trying to kill me but something weird happened. I had lightning come out of my hands." I yold my Mom as her face changed expression. "Its time" she mumbled and got up. I was confused but walked to a chair as I held my wound to make it stop. It wasnt long until my Mom came back with the first aid kit and a envelope. She started to fix my wound.

"When I first found you, you had an envelope with you that explained that your biological mother had to give you away because her planet, your planet home was being taken over. She wrote that you would have the power of lightning and that you would need to train. You also have brothers that makes you a triplet and have 5 older brothers. I just need to know that you will wait to go find your brothers." she told me as I nod.

We both skipped out on dinner and went to our rooms. I read the letter over and over again. I knew I had to wait to find my siblings. All I could do is train and wait for the time to take my home planet back.
