"Chris! Brian!" I yelled from across the field, jogging to catch up with my closest friends at the time.
The blonde haired boy turned towards me with a smile, the sunlight reflecting off of his glasses which caused me to squint slightly as I looked up at him.
"Hey Bonnie." Brian said, about to speak again as he had been telling me about an idea he's had for a few weeks now but he was interrupted by Chris.
"Hey Shortie." Chris smirked while using me as an arm rest, he always teased me about my height and I huffed in annoyance, shaking my head which caused his arm to slip off.
"Can't we go for one day without calling me short, Afro?" I retorted, he merely chuckled at the nickname even though it was true. His hair was a giant puff ball on his head.
"It's much more fun to tease you." He nudged me playfully before tugging me into an awkward sideways hug. "You know I like to tease you."
"Yeah, yeah." I muttered, shrugging his arm off since I wasn't one for affection.
"Guys...?" Brian said, trying to get our attention.
"Yes?" Chris and I said at the same time, our focus now on Brian.
"So I had this idea, what if we all hung out at my house? We could start working on building something together since I already built an engine." He said with a proud smile.
"Oh yeah!" I chirped. "My grandma was asking if I knew you since it appeared in the newspaper." I added on with a shy smile.
"So what do you guys think?" He asked, looking between the two of us.
"I'm down for it." Chris said, they both turned to look at me. I shuffled along, slightly uncomfortable with all of the focus on me now.
"I'm not so sure my parents would let me..." I said with a frown. Knowing that my parents wouldn't approve of me going over to a boy's house. They told me before that I had to wait till I was a bit older before I could go over to a boy's house.
"It's okay!" Brian said with a smile that instantly cheered me up. "Maybe we could hang out in the future!"
"Okay!" I chirped, with that we rushed off to our 6th grade home room class.
